bluetooth to xfer files to/from Android

It seems there's no way to transfer files to/from 5.9 to/from Android 4.1.1 using bluetooth, at least that's what the web and my attempts have been telling me for the past few days. Or has someone found a way...?

How to configure display on CentOS 6?

How exactly are you supposed to configure the display (i.e. set up X11) on a CentOS 6 system? I mean, in the past, there was system-config-display, but that's not supported any more. There is gnome-display-properties/System->Preferences->Display, but that seems to rely completely on auto-detection of the graphics card and monitors. What if this fails? Surely there should be a way to specify everything by hand? lokkit and multicast

I use lokkit to set my firewall. on 5.X seems the default is to allow multicast through. on 6.3 seems the default is to block multicast what can I use on the command line for lokkit to enable port 6550 for multicast? Thanks, jerry

Accessing packages on DVD from rescue mode?

Hi, Does anyone know a way to access rpm packages on the CentOS 6 install DVD after booting into "rescue mode" from the same DVD? I mean, I can't immediately see the Packages directory or a full DVD mount point... Mail notification in panel/system tray on CentOS 6

Hi. Does anyone know of a way to add a "new mail" notification icon to the panel/system tray under CentOS 6? On CentOS 5, I used the "mail-notification" software package provided by the Fedora "EPEL" distribution, but this is gone from the version 6 repository, and the one from version 5 won't install just like that due to dependency issues. How to setup VNC for GDM access on 6.3

Hi all, I'm looking for pointer for setting up VNC so that access to the system is via gdm/kdm. Yes, I know about vino, and /etc/sysconfig/vncservers but what I'm looking for is a sertup that allows me to see the *dm login screen instead of being dropped direct into a desktop. Thanks in advance

CentOS 5.8, Adaptec 6405 but lsmod lists dmraid?

Hi I have (actaully on a number of machines) various Adaptec card installed, yet lsmod shows "dmraid" loaded? How come? I thought that dmraid is software raid? Is this part of the booting and if so How do I tell mkinitrd NOT to make it part of the bootup process? Software Updater issue

Hey All, Heads up! For some reason the Software Updater thought it would be interesting for me if it upgraded my nvidia 304 driver with the nvidia 310.32-1 driver. That would be nice if the 310 driver supported my crusty old GS 7600 but it doesn't. I had to run two yum downgrade sessions to get it back to working again. First downgrade brought me 310.19-2, which doesn't support my video card, in place of 310.32. The second downgrade restored the 304 driver. I'm not sure about this but that seems like a bug when it thinks that the 310 driver package is an upgrade for the 304 driver package.
