For doing on hytest1.test.lab: virsh migrate --live |/CentOStestbox1/|/|qemu+ssh://hytest2.test.lab/system do I need shared storage or will it copy the machine over via ssh? I can see what works. My question is really is this the way things are supposed to be set up when one has private IP4 hosts on the same network segments as public IP4 hosts? Is there any way to configure the gateway so that it only requires one internal address [216.185.71.1] and can still route 192.168.6.0 addresses so that they stay on the LAN segment? -- *** E-Mail is NOT a SECURE channel *** James B. Re About backup of centos

Hi, i have a little question but not sure if exist in centos. Theres any way to reotre all centos to default? like a goback or a security backup? im realtive new with this and want to do a full back up of centos before trying to install things. Also i really prefer to run a commands instead of do a fresh install of centos. Theres any like this?

Centos6 installed as virtual host

Dear All, I convinced my boss to buy me a new laptop, it arrived today! So now that I finaly have a X86_64 machine, I want to try Kvm. I'm very excited. I Anaconda I selected install as virtual host, but after install, update and reboot I try #[jvermeulen@it root]$ virt-manager Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager.py", line 383, in <module> main() File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager.py", line 286, in main raise gtk_error RuntimeError: could not open display I googled this, but found very little info about this type of Centos install. Can anyone advise on how to proceed from the standard install to get this working? Greetings, J. Open source Software is the future.

Hi, I've created a new partition on /dev/sda on my CentOS machine after which fdisk -l gives output as: Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 13 104391 83 Linux /dev/sda2 14 3500 28009327+ 83 Linux /dev/sda3 3501 6527 24314377+ 83 Linux Now, when I run partprobe I get the following error: Error: Error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sda3 -- Device or resource busy. This means Linux won't know about any changes you made to /dev/sda3 until you reboot -- so you shouldn't mount it or use it in any way before rebooting. Warning: The kernel was unable to re-read the partition table on /dev/sda (Device or resource busy). This means Linux won't know anything about the modifications you made until you reboot. You should reboot your computer before doing anything with /dev/sda. I'm using parted rpm version "parted-1.8.1-29.el5". Is it some issue with this version or with the way I'm using this command? 2nd NIC troubles

Hi All, I have 2 NICS in this system. CentOS 6.4 eth0 is the virtual IP from PFSense mapping connected to the router, works fine. eth1 is a second NIC that I have assigned a private IP to and connected it to a switch on the private network. I have many other private devices, so I know this setup works. When I connect the cable to the switch and bring up eth1 the system basically stops taking requests. I can no longer SSH in, Websites stop responding, etc. If I walk over to the server and take down eth1, everything works fine. Here is eth0: DEVICE=eth0 HWADDR=00:1b:21:cd:80:bf TYPE=Ethernet UUID=68a95912-3915-4b1a-9080-eb2017330153 ONBOOT=yes NM_CONTROLLED=yes BOOTPROTO=none IPADDR=192.168.1.27 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 DNS2=8.8.4.4 GATEWAY=192.168.1.1 DNS1=8.8.8.8 IPV6INIT=no USERCTL=no Here is eth1: DEVICE=eth1 HWADDR=00:0a:cd:17:07:7e TYPE=Ethernet UUID=b3851363-ae9e-4066-8993-caed07b9945b ONBOOT=no NM_CONTROLLED=yes BOOTPROTO=none IPADDR=10.0.254.11 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=10.0.254.1 DNS1=8.8.8.8 DNS2=8.8.4.4 IPV6INIT=no USERCTL=no I have never experienced this before. Also, when I check system-config-network-tui, some .bak, which I made, but deleted the files from the file system when I was trying a few things. But how do I get rid of them?
