DHCP failover ... Some questions.

Hi, I plan to reorganise our IP management and I'd like to implement a slave DHCP server. Right now we assign IP addresses based on the ethernetadress of a client 1:1. The tutorial here [1] is simple and looks like the thing I need. I do have a lot of subnetworks and my cisco router has an DHCP helper address set. I know I'll have to add the second dhcp-server address. My questions now is: Dose the dhcp-slave syncs the dhcp data from the master? Or do I have to copy the data to the master AND slave? Any other sugesstions or comments? Postfix SMTP auto on remote relay server

Hi, Does anyone know how to configure Postfix to use SMTP authentication on a relay host? i.e. I have a Linux server, running PostFix on an ADSL line with a dynamic IP. Thus I can't just send out emails from this server but need to relay it via our ISP's SMTP server, which is very unreliable. Now I want to relay the email via another SMTP server where a user account with the same domain has already been setup, but I got no idea how to get it to work on SMTP authenticiaion. Wifi not working

Hello, I have the AR9285 wireless adaptor on an HP DV6-2128ca notebook. I can see it. it comes up in NetworkManager but never gets an IP. the router is a linksys using WPA/PSK security. Would/could someone please help me out trying to get this to work? Steps tried: Install from centos 5.5 x86_64 disc, locks up after reboot at GRUB (FAILS) Boot centos 5.5 x86_64 install drop to shell and chroot (WORKS) Boot fedora 13 isolinux disc, choose boot hard disk, launches centos 5.5 grub (WORKS) Compiled and installed grub package from fedora 13 on centos 5.5 x86_64 same problem. (FAILS) Boot fedora 13 isolinux disc, choose boot hard disk, launches newer grub installed on centos (WORKS) Installed fedora 13 x86_64 default settings for disk layout. Hi. Our CentOS 5.4 server just rebooted sponteneously while doing heavy I/O. There is a message in /var/log/messages just prior to reboot, kernel: Keepalive, Event:mdseve_cookie, client ping timeout Google does not turn up anything. Questions about clamd, amavisd and squidclamav

Hi list, I have a small server with a Postfix, amavisd and ClamAV installed and works fine. I install a squid proxy with squidclamav. Clamav works with /etc/clamd.d/amavisd.conf, but squidclamav cannot connect through the Unix socket in /var/spool/amavisd/clamd.sock. How can I configure clamav to create another Socket in /var/spool/squid/clamd.sock for example ? The service is clamd.amavisd, how can I change it to a more standard clamd deamon. Thanks a lot Kevin

LiveCD on USB won't boot

HI, I tried to build my own liveCD on USB-device. I've formatted my usb-stick: # mkdosfs -F 32 -n usbdisk /dev/sda1 Then I copied the iso-image to my stick: # livecd-iso-to-disk CentOS-5.5-i386-LiveCD.iso /dev/sda1 After that I tried to boot with that new device: # qemu -hda /dev/sda -m 256 But, then I become this error-message: "Initial menu has no LABEL entries!" The same shit happens if I try to boot my host with that usb-device? Any idea? Any hint 4 me? ttyl, Django
