[rsync -avz] total size/disk usage difference between source and destination

Hi folks We migrated storage from local disk to SAN with: # rsync -avz /mnt/lvol00045/* /lvol00045 Why there is a difference in size? How to explain this? Do we have inconsistency? What we did wrong? [...] /dev/mapper/vg01-lvol00045_old 10321208 3930336 6286016 39% /mnt/lvol00045 [...] /dev/mapper/vg01-lvol00045 10321208 3163852 6633068 33% /lvol00045 [...] kind regards Sven

TI USB 3410-5052 for CentOS 4.7

Hi, I am trying to build the driver for the TI USB 3410/5052 family of devices. Specifically, I am trying to hook up a MultiTech GSM modem. I have the source for the driver which came with the modem. However, I beating my head against the wall trying to get around the usb-serial.h not found error. I have found references saying usb-serial.h has been moved. Even though I have pulled down kernel-2.6.9-78.src.rpm I can not find the .h to make things compile. Any assistance would be greately appreciated (a prebuilt driver would be even better). device driver useage

Under Centos 5.X, how can I determine with 100% certainty what driver is associated with a given device other than referencing dmesg? For example, what tool can I use to tell for sure what driver is attached to my eth0 device? I have searched the web, but could not find anything that answered my question. CentOS 5.2 and Bacula

Hi everyone, I have a Samba server on CentOS 5.2 that I would like to and some backup service to, I have been trying to install Bacula, because I want to backup MS machines too, and there is a web GUI. But when searching around i google I get a bit confused. about what packages I need. Has anyone got bacula running on Centos or maybe guide in the right direction. Tronn

mysql 4 > 5 export import issue

Hi I am migrating a mailserver from CentOS 4 to 5 and i am migrating the db's over from mysql-max-4.1.13 to mysql-server-5.0.45-7.el5 during the mysql import it fails with this... ERROR 1062 (23000) at line 129: Duplicate entry '3-r��?�' for key 1 anyone got any clues to this one as so far i have drawn a blank thanks

Dazuko module Panda Antivirus

Hi, I installed Panda antivirus for linux but it uses Dazuko module for updating virus definition downloaded from internet to virus definitions database. So i downloaded dazuko ( tar package) software and tryed to install. But it generates the below defined errors, Which module in the kernel has to be enabled. Please help me i am using Centos 5.2 with kernel version of 2.6.18-92.1.13.el5xen [gopinath@localhost dazuko-2.3.5]$ ./configure checking host system type... Linux checking for make utility... ok (make) checking for C compiler... ok (cc) kernel source in /lib/modules/2.6.18-92.1.13.el5xen/source... yes kernel build source in /lib/modules/2.6.18-92.1.13.el5xen/build... yes acquiring Linux kernel code configuration... ok checking if Linux is RSBAC patched... no checking if devfs is enabled... no discovered host system... Linux (2.6.18) checking if security module support is enabled... yes verifying capabilities are not built-in... built-in :( error: capabilities are built-in to the kernel: you will need to recompile a kernel with capabilities as a kernel module regards Gopinath .
