Hi,
In November, upstream released RHSA-2007:1016-4 containing critical
samba updates for v4. I see the CentOS released packages and
announcement for ia64, but none for i386 or x86_64.
Were they overlooked? Am I not looking right?
Thanks!
Marc.
Hi, I want to build a spam gateway for my mail server using postfix. I issued an rpm -e sendmail and got the following output:
# rpm -e sendmail
error: Failed dependencies:
/usr/sbin/sendmail is needed by (installed) redhat-lsb-3.1-12.2.EL.el5.centos.i386
smtpdaemon is needed by (installed) mutt-1.4.2.2-3.el5.i386
smtpdaemon is needed by (installed) fetchmail-6.3.6-1.el5.i386
smtpdaemon is needed by (installed) mdadm-2.5.4-3.el5.i386
How does one replace sendmail with postfix (I am hoping to install from source using the latest version)?
Thanks!

I am looking at the howtos for using createrepo to make a local
repository. Like the one at:
http://jazzz1s.blogspot.com/2007/10/creating-local-yum-repository-centos.ht…
It seems that I need to run apache on the repository server. But I can
basically run with defaults?
All the howtos I have found address [base] and [update] but not others
like [add-on] should those be set up as well?
What are your opinions on pcre vs regexp for header_, body_, and
mime_checks in Postfix?
I looked at the regexp_table and prce_table man pages, and see
almost no difference other than the available flags.

Looks like there are NO command line options on system-config-network.
Like -d eth0
or -d eth1
I used those alot when 2 network cards are in a box.
Can netconfig be brought back to life?
Can I just install the one from 5.0 on new boxes?\

Looks like system-config-network has replaced it. AHHH!
when I run this command it does not show my eth0 as forcedeth
it is showing my T1 digium card as eth0.
Very shocked this command was removed from 5.0 to 5.1 release. What are
they thinking?

To make matters worse - I just ran system-config-network. It does
not automatically stop the existing dhcpclient running.
Netconfig used to do this.
I used to let DHCP run to setup the box as I install the OS.
Later when I receive IP information - I would just run netconfig.
then do service network restart and the box would be live.
When I run system-config-network it gives me errors about the
dhcpclient still running.

I am doing a yum install netconfig on the new 5.1
and nothing gets installed. Was it removed? replaced with something else?
yum provides netconfig does not show a "bin" command just false matches.
Is there a new command?
Thanks,
Jerry

Was this intentional? I was expecting the tag "5.1" to show up
somewhere in /etc/redhat-release ...
