java packages - tomcat5?

Have the jpackage-packaged things like tomcat5 been moved into the disto repositories? Do they work with sun java? In particular, tomcat5 used to require jta. The one yum installs doesn't mention it now, but it also doesn't work with sun java 1.5 installed the jpackage way. What am I missing? -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell(a)gmail.com

kannel on CentOS 5

Hi, has anybody out there who has setup kannel on CentOS 5. I just installed from src.rpm pls see below for installed rpms. [root@mailgw ~]# rpm -qa |grep kannel kannel-1.4.1-2.rf kannel-debuginfo-1.4.1-2.rf kannel-devel-1.4.1-2.rf I want to setup kannel for sending SMS via a web browser on this CentOS 5 box. I googled a lot. But I could not find a lot of info. I think I need an external modem as well. What type of external modem do u recommend? Pls see below for my /etc/kannel.conf file. clamav error

Hi All, I installed clam on CentOS 5 as below. yum install clamav clamav-db clamd I got them form Dag. below are the RPMS I installed. [root@box ~]# rpm -qa |grep clam clamav-db-0.90.2-1.el4.rf clamd-0.90.2-1.el4.rf clamav-0.90.2-1.el4.rf But, when I restart clam it gives following error. a2ps bug in 4.5?

Hi, My desktops which have gone from 4.4 tot 4.5 (i386) have a problem with a2ps. 'a2ps file.txt' dumps to the terminal instead of to the printer. 'a2ps -P printername file.txt' dumps to a file 'printername' 'lpr' still seems to work correctly. Any ideas about what can cause this? something like apt-cacher for yum

Hello! I need to download updates and install it on several servers. I don't want to mirror all packages just because traffic is expensive here. We use apt-cacher as specialized proxy for our ubuntu desktops, so we download packages only once. Is there similar tool for yum?

Is there a way to force regeneration of the weak-upgrades? I guess there should be a script that does or triggers this in the (new)kernel rpm. I have just restructured my system (repartitioned the main disk to separate /home from /) and I am now getting this error when I try to log in as a non-root user: Your session only hasted less than 10 seconds. If you have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem or you may be out of disk space. Try logging in with one of the failsafe sessoions to see if you can fix this problem. I can log in via ssh or as root, but I don't know what to fix. Since I can log in via ssh, I am assuming that I have enough disk space (there's plenty everywhere), so I'm thinking a config problem, but what?
