CentOS for s390 (release 4.3 or 4.4)

Hi, (not sure if my previous post worked) I'm using CentOS 4.2 for s390 and I'm thinking to upgrade to 4.3 or 4.4 (it is installed under an hercules emulator) Looking on the site it seems to me that these version are not available for s390 but I can see it in the ftp site as ISO image. I suppose these release as still beta. Comments from anyone that have try it ? Regards. Luca Masini.

DNS trouble (little, but i need some help)

Open Office - libIDL.x86_64 - AMD64

Hi, I am trying to install via yum group install, open office. I am having a dependancy problem. I get: /nTransaction Check Error: package libIDL-0.8.4-1.centos4 (which is newer than libIDL-0.8.4-1) is already installed yum list gives: Installed Packages libIDL.x86_64 0.8.4-1.centos4 installed Available Packages libIDL.i386 0.8.4-1 base It looks like OO is looking for the 32 bit verson of the library whereas the 64 bit verson is installed. How do I fix this? I am running the x86_64 arch. Thanks in advance Rob

how beta is ppc centos 4?

Hi there, I am looking for a rhel close to run on a PPC. I have used centos for a while and want to stick with what I know. I know there is a V4.0 PPC beta version. How safe is it to use? I have a server that will be going into production, and am hesitant to use a beta product (as one should never use anyways). What is the status of the PPC version? Is it going to be continued to be developed? Is it dropped as the macs have gone to an intel architecture? Does anyone else know of a PPC rhel clone besides centos if it is not really in dev anymore? XFS Issues

We are in the process of migrating XFS filesystems from one storage array to another. Both are arrays are mounted locally on the same CentOS 4.4 system (x86_64). We are running kernel 2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp along with kernel-module-xfs-2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp-0.1-3. The issue we are having is that while the copy is running (using rsync) the system will log these message periodically: kernel: XFS: possible memory allocation deadlock in kmem_alloc (mode:0x250) kernel: XFS: possible memory allocation deadlock in kmem_alloc (mode:0x2d0) Eventually the system will panic. This looks similar to this bug: http://oss.sgi.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=410 which was apparently fixed in April. Is there any chance that the fix will make it into the centosplus kernel-module-xfs? Configuring Multiple Gateways

I'm in need of installing two NICs in a machine that are connected to 2 different public networks and I need both IP addresses accessible from the outside. The IPs are part of two completely different subnets. For example: eth0 IP - 10.10.10.2/30 GW - 10.10.10.1 eth1 IP - 20.20.20.6/30 GW - 20.20.20.5 How can I configure 2 gateways on this server?
