Setting Abbreviatons In .exrc Problems

Hi All, I'm trying to get vi to display an ab like so, ab htm <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> \<html> \<head> \<meta content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" http-equiv="content-type"> \<title>NewUser</title> \</head> \<body> \</body> \</html> but, when I input the text htm and press the spacebar, I get the following, <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"><html><head><meta content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" http-equiv="content-type"><title>NewUser</title></head><body></body></html> not the desired result. If I remove the leading backslashes, I get errors when starting vi, [racket@ibmlap htdocs]$ sudo vi newuser.php Error detected while processing /home/racket/.exrc: line 26: E488: Trailing characters: <html> line 27: E488: Trailing characters: <head> line 28: E488: Trailing characters: <meta content= line 29: E488: Trailing characters: <title>NewUser</title> line 30: E488: Trailing characters: </head> line 31: E488: Trailing characters: <body> line 32: E488: Trailing characters: </body> line 33: E488: Trailing characters: </html> Hit ENTER or type command to continue How do I get the desired result? Hello, the last 2-3 days i have a saden problem with logwatch wich i call through a cron job. when i ran the cronjob i get this continues error for the script : ---- Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /etc/log.d/scripts/shared/applystddate line 43, <STDIN> line 26062. Problems with 4.3 install - didnt write boot record

the first time i tried to install centos on my fileserver it detected my reiserfs drives but then didnt give me a kernel to actually access them - strike one now im trying centos on my mail server, wipe the drives, created a mirrored raid array from the setup, (took over 14 hours to format and sync) finally finished the install AND IT DIDNT WRITE THE BOOT RECORD! when it rebooted i got my grub menu from GENTOO! - strike two, now im back into the install cd, trying to figure out how to install grub like the install should have done for me, but there is no grub command at the prompt (trying to use tab completion) im ready to hurt something im so frustrated, can anyone help me out here? ive seen http://www.dur.ac.uk/a.d.stribblehill/mirrored_grub.html but without the grub command that page is useless. Im sure someone has to be booting RH/CentOS off mirrored software raid, some help please! id like to get this thing going tonight if possible, thanks! Nick

yum error

heartbeat-2.0.4 in the Testing Repo

We have added heartbeat-2.0.4 for CentOS 4 into the testing repository at dev.centos.org. Copy the testing CentOS-Testing.repo file from here: http://dev.centos.org/centos/4/ to /etc/yum.repos.d/ , then use this command to install heartbeat: yum --enablerepo=c4-testing install heartbeat Report issues with this to the heartbeat-2.0 tracker here: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1305
