help compiling bluetooth package

Hi, I am trying to compile ( the small package ) http://bluetooth-alsa.sourforge.net the bluetooth package does not compile on centos 4.2 but does other distros. Quick crontab question (another cron question!)

Really quickly: Would anyone know how I might add a crontab entry via a script (bash)? I'm attempting to write one to schedule commands at certain times. Is this possible? Thanks. -Jose

Chris, I have a compaq AMD r4000 x86_64. grabbing the latest kernel and compiling it fixed my clock skew. I have not had any slow disk issues. again the kernel may help doing the command: killall -SIGUSR1 cpuspeed makes the CPU run faster. Hope that helps. Jerry

Looking for server recommendations

We're going to replace an older Solaris7/Netbackup/TapeRobot server with a new Centos box using backup-to-disk-to-tape (probably using Arkeia). The specs are up in the air, but generally: - CentOS/RHEL friendly (3Ware SATA? SCSI?) - 2U/3U/4U-ish form factor - hotswap RAID5 - dual PS, hotswap a plus - USB2.0 port(s) (*) To give you an idea of where I'm starting to look, take a gander at this page: http://www.serversdirect.com/system_dept.asp?dept_id=SD-043 Obviously we'd like to keep the price low, but realize that a major cost will be the 400GB drives. We may only start with 4 or 5 of them and add more as time goes (LVM), depends on how the costs break down. We've even looked at a Dell 2850 as an option, fyi. Anyone have some good ideas? php + sybase 12.5 shared module

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/modules/sybase.so' - /usr/lib/php/modules/sybase.so: undefined symbol: dbversion in Unknown on line 0 After doing a rpmbuild -bb on the php 5.0.4 source rpm from centosplus. The packages all build, but I cannot seem to get sybase to compile as a shared module. If I make it a static module it compiles fine. Anyone have any ideas what this error is about?

compiling and getting an error

I downloaded a bluetooth module today (btsco.41.tgz) I am getting an error on line 88 when compiling and trying to figure out why??? I have compared it to alsa-driver code and it looks good to me. here is the source snippit: ----------------- the following line is line 86 --------------- static int index[SNDRV_CARDS] = {[0 ... I have installed CentOS 4.2 on an AMD based machine using the ATI chipset (xpress 200) and I am having issues with it. It seems to be a very Linux unfriendly chipset. I have looked at the ATI proprietary drivers but they seem to be for video. My problem is the IDE channel on which you cannot enable DMA. There is serious clock slew also as well as nic issues. There is supposed to be an ATI driver in the kernel that works properly with the IDE controller. Has anyone here had to deal with this chipset (SB400) and been able to compile kernel modules or the such to work around the issues? Thanks Chris

server without gcc?

Broadcom NIC Binding under Centos 4.2

Hello all, I'm having unusual difficulty configuring teaming with Centos 4.2. The 2 NIC's are Broadcom. The HW is HP DL360 and there is no teaming driver for RHEL4 since it comes with package (says HP). Since there is no teaming driver from centos (as far as I know), I tried the Broadcom Driver, configured the team file, but the team just wont come up. A Virtual Interface should be up but only eth0 & eth1 appear. I fell really stupid because with Intel this is pretty straightforward. Any clues, any suggestions, Nassri
