Trying to control the torrent of spam...

Someone got ahold of my information (actually, I know who they are - t2net.net - just not how to get back at them) and now I'm getting 4 phone calls a week upwards of 20 spams a day. I'm trying to put an end to the spam at least and the built-in stuff for Evolution isn't working as well as it should I did some Googling on procmail and fetchmail and spamassassin config files and much of this documentation is out of date for CentOS 4.1 because it uses a newer version of spamassassin. Can someone point me in the direction of some example config files that just rewrite the subject lines so I can filter them. An IDEAL setup would be one where spam gets auto-forwarded to the FTC's spam email address and to BlueSecurity.com. But I don't know if such a program exists for Linux. Preston

Centos 4.1 DISPLAY question

I have X running on 4.1. From another PC I use ssh to remote in. from the command line I enter "export DISPLAY=machine:0.0; mozilla" and nothing comes up on the X window screen. mozilla just returns. I then tried in a terminal on X windows issue the command "xhost + " and redid the "export DISPLAY=machine:0.0; mozilla" on the command line with nothing showing on the X window screen again. If I remote into machine and enter the command "mozilla" it will display on my workstation no problem. Why cant I get it to display on the machine:0.0 display? THanks for any help. Jerry

Xen under CentOS 4

hi all, Where i can found docs about install Xen under CentOS 4 ?? (I only find docs for Fedora). Do I need a precompiled kernel or can I use binary kernel that comes with xen binaries??? Thanks for your comment Scott, The main issue is that the behaviour of the application is also different from fedora to Centos, It simply is not working correctly. I'm not familiar enough with Centos to understand all the differences to RH9/Fedora, but it seems to me that I'm missing some important package that may be needed in a LAMP environment and that yum does not fetch. PHP issue on Centos

Hello all, I'm trying to configure a web development & content management application called siteseed under centos 4.1 My centos install is a minimal with httpd, mysql php added via yum. Problem: PHP complains with errors that look like : 10.192.129.12] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: article_comment in /var/www/html/siteseed/index.php on line 112 [client 10.192.129.12] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: headline in /var/www/html/siteseed/index.php on line 170 [client The mystery is that this errors only happen in a centos 4.1 install. In a default RH9/fedora install everything works fine. All php, mysql, httpd packages are installed with no dependence issue. Any help would be appreciated, Nassri

centericq 4.21.0 on CentOS 4

Has anyone been able to install centericq 4.21.0 on CentOS 4? I've been unable to install the binary rpm from the centericq site. I've also been unable to correctly rebuild the source rpm on CentOS 4 as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Barry

Mirror problems

The yum headers http://master.centos.org/centos-3/3/updates/i386/headers/ and mirrored here http://master.centos.org/centos-3/3/updates/i386/headers/ are out of date. The RPM for httpd-2.0.46-46.3.ent.centos.1.i386.rpm is out but the latest headers are still for httpd-0-2.0.46-46.2.ent.centos.1.i386.hdr. Although I mirror files locally, I use the headers on the mirrors to find what I need to mirror. Compiling Apache 2.0.54 on CentOS 4.1

Has anyone gotten Apache 2.0.54 to build on CentOS 4.1? Apache 2.0.52(distrbiuted with CentOS 4.1) compiles file. [NU-BQ+CentOS] Special Chars not showing up in browsers

Greetings, I am in the process of moving several large sites to a Tyan+BQ+CentOS box (built from the Nuonce ISO) and I see that special characters are not showing up in the browser properly but do show up in the source "view source" properly. -- very strange. Example: on the web page --> Heizungsbau M?ller in the source --> Heizungsbau Müller When I view this on the existing site on my RaQ 4, it display's correctly.
