I'm using for CentOS a Lenovo IBM ThinkPad > T42 1.7 GHz i386 Centrino with 1GB of RAM & a 40GB hard drive. I think that if you yum install the CR repo, it will likely work OK on the Thinkpad ... at least one of our devels uses a think pad and it "works for him".
