centos 7 64 bit on raspberry Pi 3

Hello, I was wondering if there is a procedure for installing Centos 7 on the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ while installing Centos 7.5 on armhfp is very clear and documented given that a raw root image is provided and you just "dd" it on the memory card, it is not clear to me how to do it with aarch64. A ISO image is provided but how to install it on the raspberry ? thank you Rick

Ok, I see this epel-release in the epel1 repo that I installed via the wiki. So I decide to install it, and it created an epel.repo.rpmnew file. I swicth around the files and try a 'yum update' and get: epel/armhfp/metalink | 47 kB 00:00 Could not parse metalink https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-7&arch=armhfp error was No repomd file One of the configured repositories failed (Unknown), and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this: .... File /var/cache/yum/armhfp/7/epel/metalink.xml does not exist So I put everything back.

bluetooth on CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810

Hello, I am going to use a raspberry PI for browsing on a TV, so I want to connect with a wireless keyboard, bluetooth. It looks like bluetooth is "not running"; [rocr@centos-rpi3 ~]$ systemctl status bluetooth.service ● bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: inactive (dead) Docs: man:bluetoothd(8) I don't have any bluetooth devices connected yet. but the service should be up, right? Is there a write-up, guide, to get bluetooth configured? thanks, Ron

Hi Jim, It's been a while, since I sent the patch. Any objections about merging? Is v4.11 kernel still a valid baseline or for the next releases or we should use v4.14? When is that transition and next release supposed to happen? I must correct what I said earlier about the versions of RPis I have. Should have waited until get back home instead of I depending on the picture from the screen with the errors. It took a bit of effort to check the version on actual hardware as all my 4 RPis are in Pi rack, so it's bit cramped and dusty now. So, checked it and my main testing device is RPi 3 model B v1.2, then tested booting Centos 8 twice really on RPIs 3 Model B+. Also have RPi 4 but for obvious reasons not even tried to boot Centos 8 on it. Now, earlier I got the BCM number from the logs that were displayed when booting Cenots 8, which do seem to be correct? As I just checked both test devices that are running Centos 7: RPi3B and RPi3B+, and they report in /proc/cpuinfo: 3B+: Hardware: BCM2835 Revision: a020d3 Model: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Plus Rev 1.3 3B: Hardware: BCM2835 Revision: a02082 Model: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Rev 1.2 Thanks, Marcin

All, I have tested the Centos 8 build it on 3 different RPi 3, two different SD cards, always ends up with kernel panic. I tested both cards and freshly installed Centos 7 and it works like a charm on any combination of my RPi3 and both sd cards. Is there alternative download other than http://mirror.freethought-internet.co.uk/centos-altarch/8.1.1911/isos/armhf… ? Centos 8 Userland + RPI 3+b

Hi All, I can see that Centos 8 Userland is available.I downloaded it but I did not manage to boot it, got into boot loop or it's just spewing messages and immediately clearing the screen or finally just nothing on the screen. Anyone successfully tried it? Is the root password the same as in Centos 7? Thanks Marcin
