Hi, I am toying with the idea of getting a Gigabyte MP30-AR0 board (despite the insanely exorbitant price tag). Has anyone got the aarch64 CentOS working on one of those? Any special instructions? Also, if I get the ISO, is it bootable on aarch64? Does the installer work? Or does the image have to be used like on 32-bit ARM? Thanks. Gordan

Request for a new package: raspberrypi-vc

Hello, Following the Fabian Arrotin recommendation, I open here the request to include the 'raspberrypi-vc' package into the CentOS 7 EPEL repository, or in the main tree. This package includes a command called 'vcgencmd' which offers a set of interesting values of the Raspberry Pi board; e.g. its temperature. Check here <http://www.elinux.org/RPI_vcgencmd_usage> for more information. I've downloaded the SRPM package from here <http://www.squeezecommunity.org/repo/fedora/24/pi/SRPMS/raspberrypi-vc-2016…>, and I realized that it was pretty easy to build on a full-updated CentOS 7 (kernel 4.4.14-v7). Kernel for BananaPi R1 (Lamobo R1)

Hello Guys, I have been compiling the Fedora 4.4.2-300 kernel for Centos , using the new Centos image for the Banana-pi . I have used the Fedora src rpm and then added the patch for the switch drivers specific for R1 (Lamobo R1) , then compiled it within the Centos dev arm environment I have . I ran into a couple of things : one cosmetic , the other one not so . ipa-server packages

Hi, maybe I'm wrong but IMO I have found the ipa-server packages on your arm32 repository last year (still CentOS 7.2). But now no ipa-server* package any more (CentOS 7.3) and BTW for aarch64 also only ipa-server-common-4.4.0-12.el7.centos.noarch.rpm are available. In the Fedora 25 armhfp repositories freeipa-server* v4.4.1-3 packages are offered. So I assume that it should work on ARM32 but otherwise on Fedora everything is experimental and may not work ;-). Is there any plan to build also the ipa-server* packages for ARM32 CentOS Userland Linux or must we wait for future 7.x > 7.3 there Red Hat has officail added ARM support (of course only for ARM64)? Is there EPEL built for the armv7 images? I need them for my mailserver. It was quite a job building my mailserver for RSEL6, only some of the rpms I needed were available. Took a lot to work through it. So I am asking now, a bit ahead of starting in mailserver upgrade. Thanks

Rebase to kernel 4.9.x (LTS) for armhfp : call for testers

Hi guys, As mentioned in the other thread about new kernel (basically to fix the dccp cve issue), I had a look at the 4.4.x branch, but thought also about a rebase to 4.9.x (also upstream LTS at kernel.org) For AltArch (centos 7 i386), Johnny built a 4.9.13 kernel and so I reused it for armhfp It also makes sense to rebase to 4.9.x for rpi2/rpi3 as the rpi foundation also rebased to 4.9 and so confirmed to me that they don't maintain 4.4.x (even if they still accept Pull Requests). So we have now 4.9.13 available for both rpi and generic. The following /etc/yum.repos.d/testing-kernel.repo would do it : [kernel-testing] name=CentOS Kernels for armhfp testing baseurl=https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/kernel/$basearch/kernel-$kvar… enabled=0 gpgcheck=0 [firmware] name=firmware baseurl=https://armv7.dev.centos.org/repodir/arm-kernels/linux-firmware-201… enabled=1 gpgcheck=0 After that a simple yum update --enablerepo=kernel-testing would bring it to the node For rpi, nothing to be done For the other boards, I've added an update-boot tool to automatically modify extlinux.conf. but you need the updated centos-userland-release pkg : https://armv7.dev.centos.org/repodir/c71611-updates-1/centos-userland-relea… Worth noting that the actual 4.9.13 will *not* call it in the %post rpm transaction (yet) but if that tool works for everybody, we'll add it for newer kernels. Hi, I was quite happy to see that the BananaPi Image contains dtb files for my imx6 based CuBox-i and I successfully booted the distro kernel. Unfortunately it turned out that the hardware support is somehow incomplete, e.g. the SATA port cannot be found. I'm running a mainline kernel on the CuBox-i since kernel version 4.2, so I don't expect much effort to get adequate hardware support with the CentOS kernel as well. Where can I get the armhfp kernel sources, I haven't found them [here](https://github.com/CentOS) and [here](http://vault.centos.org/7.3.1611/os/Source/SPackages/)? Cheers Uli

Mailserver work

So I have been spending way too much time on my new mailserver instead of other work. The howto do date is: http://medon.htt-consult.com/Centos7-mailserver.html This is all hand-coded html. I have learned a bit, and any tips are accepted. Some inconsistencies where I learned something, and did not go back and change all occurrences. I still need to USE postfixadmin to create a domain and a user. Then test postfix and dovecot and roundcubemail. I still have to configure amavis, clamav, spamasssassin, and maybe mailgraph.... Borked deps

Hi, I started to build some stuff on my rpi3 with centos7 but got broken deps. Searched a bit and found https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1326871 which indeed fixed the problem. Could you please apply the patch to rpm to have this fixed? Note, you need to rebuild rpm with the patch applied, install it with --nodeps and then rebuild rpm a second time (of course). I need libpango for rrdtool, and libpango is OS specific. And I am not finding it at all in https://armv7.dev.centos.org/repodir/epel-pass-1/ But rpmfind found: ftp://195.220.108.108/linux/mageia/distrib/cauldron/armv7hl/media/core/release/libpango1.0_0-1.40.3-3.mga6.armv7hl.rpm Can I 'safely' use it? Yum update problem with package in repo updates

I just tried a 'yum update' in a server which was current as a few days ago. Progress on C7-armv7

I switched medon.htt-consult.com to another Cubieboard2; I took one of my test systems (which was off anyway, the middle one of the tower), put the C7 uboot mSD and HD, and booted up. I also switched over to the new kernel. So far it has been up for 6 hours, longer than before. We will see how it goes. I have set up a DNS server and letting it 'sit' for 24 hours to test for stability (not crashing). This is an internal DNS server (rigel.htt-consult.com) If all is well tomorrow I will put it into production, and start on migrating the production DNS server (onlo.htt-consult.com) And I have to learn how to config DNSSEC... I am holding off on any more work on the mailserver replacement (z9m9z.htt-consult.com) until my one epel dependency is fixed. The delay 'buys' me some time to figure out if I will buy a Cubie5 (4 core) for the new server. avmavis regularly eats up 2 core on my current RSEL6 mailserver. So progress. Thanks for the code to make this possible.

System hung yesterday

My server hung yesterday. I did not notice it; at this stage in the game, I should be much more aware... I looked into /var/log/messages and my last entry was: Feb 5 15:03:46 medon kernel: conntrack: generic helper won't handle protocol 47 . Please consider loading the specific helper module. So I don't know if someone knocked me over with a GRE based attack, if the drive is bad, if the board is bad, or the OS has a problem. So simple things to start with. I see an earlier GRE warning in messages: Feb 5 03:29:49 medon kernel: conntrack: generic helper won't handle protocol 47. Please consider loading the specific helper module. So it is probably not a stack problem with attacking GRE bots. BTW, is there some 'easy' way to just block these? As to the drive: Is there some way to run a SMART? check on the drive? Can't really tell too well if it is a board problem other than to watch more closely to see how things go, is there anywhere else I should look to find the problem? thanks

My first production Centos7-armv7 server

medon.htt-consult.com is up and running in production mode.
