Yes, in the generic type images. For 7 there are two versions, rpi specific (kernel from rpi foundation) and generic (kernel from kernel.org). The next version won't have (at least initially) rpi specific kernels so testing what you need in a generic image from 7.7 will be a good (if not exact) approximation.
