All,
I have tested the Centos 8 build it on 3 different RPi 3, two different SD cards, always ends up with kernel panic. I tested both cards and freshly installed Centos 7 and it works like a charm on any combination of my RPi3 and both sd cards. Is there alternative download other than http://mirror.freethought-internet.co.uk/centos-altarch/8.1.1911/isos/armhfp... ?
Thanks,
Marcin

Hi All,
I can see that Centos 8 Userland is available.I downloaded it but I did not manage to boot it, got into boot loop or it's just spewing messages and immediately clearing the screen or finally just nothing on the screen. Anyone successfully tried it? Is the root password the same as in Centos 7?
Thanks
Marcin

I gave the test image that Pablo built a try (both images) on my rpi3b+ (bcm2837) and both worked. root password is same as for c7 , so 'centos'

Nope, those are the ones ... I tested it on a rpi3b+, but I'll try to test it on a rpi3 and rpi2 too Can you share the kernel panic message you have ? and so that means that it boots and find correctly the kernel/initrd, so would be good to see what would be the reason why it panics on yours.
PS : the only issue I had on my rpi3b+ was some kernel messages about "undervolted", so also ensure that you use (as it's supposed to be the case for rpi3) a correct power plug with enough power over usb
Just redid the test and worked as expected. Download, dd, and the rpi 3B+ booted without problems.
Pablo.

Pablo, This is really baffling me, I am running Centos 7 on all my RPi3+ for at least a year without any problems.As suggested earlier, I tried this morning the original power supply (i usually use 60W wall charger - 5 USB outputs, to run my three RPI3+ and one RPi4), and it's exactly the same.When I boot up Centos 8 on my RPis, it always starts kernel, gets OK to "Starting Switch Root" and then it fails to start a lot of services, to eventually and usually get to exception stack, kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!. Can post exact message if it's worth it later when will get back home. Thanks,Maricn

Just to confirm, you're testing the 3B+, right?
Thanks, Maricn

Well .. no :-)
rpi3b+ is bcm2837 (also reason why I mentioned it in my previous answer : https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/arm-dev/2020-January/007799.html
Also : https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bcm2835/READM... => raspberry Pi 1 = armv6 , we never had any release for that
https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bcm2836/READM... => model 2 (that we supported)
https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bcm2837/READM... => model 3 (same)
So can you verify which one you have ? as bcm2835 would never work and we never had any release for that armv6 arch :) (but RedSleeve has)
