CentOS-3.3 to 3.5 Upgrade Error

Thank you for the advice to update! Problem is that i get the following error message: Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS-3.3 - Addons Server: CentOS-3.3 - Base Server: CentOS-3.3 - Extras retrygrab() failed for: http://mirror.centos.org/centos-3/3.5/extras/i386/headers/header.info Executing failover method failover: out of servers to try Error getting file http://mirror.centos.org/centos-3/3.5/extras/i386/headers/header.info [Errno 4] IOError: HTTP Error 404: Not Found Somebody knows what´s going wrong? tia!

kernel panic last night

I had a kernel panic last night. Cam in this morning and had the dump info on screen but could not find anything in the /var/log/messages file. I am using CentOS 4.1. Had been running for weeks no problem. How do I find out what crashed. THanks, Jerry

Softick Card Export on Linux with Palm Tungsten E

Hello, I just installed Softick Card Export 2.19 (http://www.softick.com/cardexport2/) on my Palm Tungsten E. It is supposed to let me access the SD card inside my Palm without the need of an external SD card reader. This software is suppposed to be compatible with Linux usb-storage since version 2.15... but I didn't find how to use it. If I do "lsmod | grep -i usb", I see the following: usb_storage 61193 0 scsi_mod 121293 2 sd_mod,usb_storage usbserial 25769 1 visor Anybody have experience with that software or any idea how to mount an usb-storage device? I'm running Centos 4.1. Thanks! Etienne Savard.

Updating an RH3 system from CentOS

Can I maintain an RH3 system using centos packages? I admin a non-profit's server and got them RH3 but the subscription has expired. I would rather not reload the os, rather just update it using centos and yum. I haven't worked with yum much, how do I configure it? VSFTP/MySQL

Hi guys, Just a quick question, I've been slowly moving all my user services to mysql backend, I realise it's probably not as good a choice as LDAP, but you tend to stick with what you know. To that end I want to setup both Apache and VSFTP to use mysql db for virtual users. Basically I want to create virtual users that are locked into their own home dir and have apache use mysql to work out it's virtual hosts. I can probably work out apache by myself as I've done similiar things before, but VSFTP seems to be fairly lax in the online documentation aspects so I'd appreciate any tips from the gurus. regards Franki

CentOS 4.0 compatible with Dell's OpenManage?

Hi, I'm looking into purchasing a few Dell Servers and installing it with CentOS 4.1. It comes with this software called the the Dell OpenManage Software Kit for PowerEdge that allows for remote monitoring of the servers. Has anyone out there successfully installed the OpenManage s/ware? Is it compatible with CentOS 4.1? Any opinions / feedback is welcome. Thanks. Best Regards, Andrew
