It works on my laptop with sshd running. Actuall sshd does RUN. however when I try to connect it is saying "connection closed". I have ran system-config-securitylevel and have ssh enabled. I have rebooted... I cannot get sshd to allow me to connect. httpd still wont start. I see no entries in messages other than httpd failed. I dont know what else to do/try. THanks for any suggestion. httpd not starting after 4.3 update - DONE

THanks guys for trying to help with this problem. I GAVE up. I copied everthing off for a backup and reimaged the machine. It's all working now. moving accounts with permissions.

Hello, I've got an old fc3 box being retired. I've got 5 accounts on the old box i have to move to the new one. This machine is CentOs 4.2. I don't have the user's passwords and don't want to crack the shadow file to get them. So, i went through the old passwd, shadow, and group file, and got out the relevant parts, then i copied those files over to the new box to a tempoary location. Then i did a cat < oldpasswd,shadow,group files to the new files. This worked without a problem. Then i used scp -Cpqr * on /home which got all the data. So far, so good. The problem is permissions were not transfered and i thought that was the point of -p for scp. Did i miss something is there a command i have to use for the new box to pick up the permissions from the old box? Thanks. Dave.

Hello, This may be a little off topic but can't seem to find out how to make horde/imp work in a virtual host environment. I checked hordes website but could'nt find any documentation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

ATI Radeon IGP resolution problems

My NC4010 has the ATI Radeon IGP 350M controller http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11832_na/11832_na.HTML It works fine in 800x600 but when I change it to 1024x768 the LCD goes bad. Hard to discribe, it looks like the 800x600 is just smaller in the upper left with parts clipped and the rest of the screen repeats part of the reduced sized image. I am running at 60Mz. I have searched far and wide and have not have had anyone else complain about this. The controller uses main system memory (my system has 768Mb), perhaps that is where my problem is? Somewhere I need to set there? Oh, I just bit the bullet and had Disk Druid setup the drive how I wanted. It did create the LVM as an extended partition...
