Monitoring pkg to monitor router

Hi, I have a router which is maintained by our ISP. They have given us to monitor it by using MRTG. It is okay. But it only shows incoming and outgoing traffice. It does not say wherther is TCP or UDP or ICMP. It just shows in and out.That's it. But, I want to monitor this router ? Can you tell me a good pkg for it ? router has a snmp commiunity password . Ido not know it. My ISP does not give it either. Can you help me accoring to my condition soon? -- Thank you Indunil Jayasooriya

sendmail and rbl blocking - generating statistics

I have enabled the feature in sendmail.mc to check with spamhaus for spammers. Hi, im trying to install centos 4.4 server cd on a P5VDC-MX using an 80GB sata drive. centos can't detect the sata drive is there a way to make this work?

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and CentOS 5 extras packages

Hi, In the advent of RHEL5 and CentOS 5, I've been rebuilding the RPMforge packages for EL5. You can find these at the usual location[*]. A few points though: + Not all RPMforge packages are available at this time + If you find a package that you need and isn't there, please do look at the buildlogs and send me instructions on how to fix this specific build. (Saves us time having to go through it ourselves) + Upgrading from RHEL4 to RHEL5 using Anaconda does work. Even when people do not recommend it for various reasons. You should be able to update your packages directly to EL5. If you find that some EL4 package is not replace by its EL5 counterpart, let me know. + If you see FC6 tagged packages, don't panic ! These are official RHEL5 packages. RPMforge does not provide fc6-tagged packages for RHEL5. ANd we do not recommend installing these (even if they seem to work). Enjoy RHEL5 ! PS To me it looks like it could finally replace the current desktop OS of relatives. Replacing a hard drive

I have a CentOS 4.4 system where all of the main filesystems are on a single hard drive. This drive is starting to give some errors, so I got a new (larger) drive to replace it with. What is the easiest way to copy my filesystems over to the new drive? I considered using dd, but I lose the extra capacity of the new drive that way. I tried using SystemImager, but it is giving me some errors. I think the easiest way may be to boot from the LiveCD, recreate the partitions, copy the info with rsync and then fix the boot partition and grub. Any tips or pointers to a good how-to? -- Bowie

Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) Repo

May want to check out the new Fedora-Extras-based EPEL repo. There will be overlap with KBS repos (in fact they cite karan.org as an example of rebuilding Fedora Extras packages for EL4), RPMforge, etc. so be wary as of any other 3rd party repo. The Wiki page says "The EPEL repository is not yet publicly available -- we are in the process of creation and initial testing phase."; however, it is live. If you are using the C5 Beta, hard-code $releasever as 5 below. Dell Desktop Linux Survey

All, Dell is running a Linux survey for Linux desktop machines. If you use Linux on the desktop and would like to see it supported by Dell ... take the survey.
