Able to open TCP session, but unable to receive html content

I seem to be having a problem with all of my CentOS5 machines, which do not seem to be a problem with CentOS4.4: [garron@MailScanner ~]$ telnet www.debtbusterloans.com 80 Trying 87.86.7.52... [root@eagle ~]# --- I've done a tcpdump, and it would appear as if I receive a TCP RST when attempting to request pages - yet this appears to work for other websites. So far, I've been able to narrow down that this is only happening on my CentOS5 machines and not CentOS4.4Server installations. Could anyone please advise? I have several RHEL AS 4 systems, and when we get a vmcore, I would like to view them in my centos box.. How can I do that? Is that even possible? Thanks!

Help with Dell Latitude, CentOS 5, and intel 3945abg wireless

I've visited several web pages, including Dell's, for help in getting the wireless card activated. lspci shows it, but iwconfig doesn't list it. I also visited linux.dell.com and downloaded and installed the 64-bit Fedora 7 RPMs, but couldn't get anywhere. dellwirelessctl also doesn't show up anywhere. I'm running a fully updated kernel/distro. What am I missing? Thanks. Scott

Updating RPMS on system [fails]

I am building a Centos machine for a specific piece of third party software. Can I assume that the IA64 verson of CENTOS 4.5 will run on this CPU? Are there any differences in basic libraries between 4.0 and 4.5? Art Edwards

I have installed OOo 2.3 on CentOS-5. Everything seems to work but I had to locate the item reproduced below. Since this is a vital modification I reproduce it here so that it gets a wider audience. FYI: OOo 2.3.0 and SELinux: "no suitable windowing system found, exiting." OpenOffice.org (OOo) 2.3.0 is incompatible with the SELinux technology activated by default in Fedora 7, Fedora Core 6 (and older) and Red Hat Linux system (and, optionally, in other Linux-based systems): see http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=80816 for more information and current situation. Symptoms: * If OpenOffice.org is started from the GUI, it simply doesn't start. * If OpenOffice.org is started from the command line, the error message no suitable windowing system found, exiting. is displayed and OpenOffice.org exists immediately. The best resolution so far consists in setting the proper security context: execute (as root or with sudo privileges) # chcon -t textrel_shlib_t libvclplug_gen680li.so.1.1 in the program directory in your OOo installation. A more radical resolution is disabling SELinux altogether (requires root/sudo privileges): * Command line (as root): # setenforce 0 * GUI: System -> Administration -> Firewall and SELinux -> set "Permissive" mode. Note that, with the default configuration, SELinux will be restored in "Enforcing" mode upon reboot or instalaltion of a new kernel if you change it via the command-line utility. Hi, I am looking for kernel (and iptables?) rpms for Centos 4/5 with support IMQ. Any tips where to find it ? I've searched the archives with no luck. Thanks.
