command line programs for ldap

Hi all. I am looking for some command line programs (pre made) that will connect to an ldap server and list out the users in question provided by the search argument given. I found some mention of it from oracle but I did not see where they can be downloaded. Is something like this available and I just havent found them? Thanks, Jerry

Minimal Install?

Hello list, I'm testing CentOS 5.2 as a possible Xen Server (i.e.: dom0) but the default no-items-selected still installs cups, portmap, and many other thing I don't want in a dom0 installation. I've already removed the packages I don't want, and replaced sendmail with postfix (I need a mailserver because of mdadm/smartd) but there're some executables I don't know what they do (gam_server for example) Two questions: 1) Is there a _real_ minimal install? 2) Is it possible, using yum, to know which packages holds what file? (like dpkg -S in Debian/Ubuntu) Many thanks in advance, Norberto

Installing on LVM on SW-RAID

Hello list, I'm trying to install CentOS 5.2 on LVM on a SW-RAID level 1, but I'm unable to understand how to use the installer correctly. What I'm trying to do is emulate something I've already done with another distro where: sda5 \ RAID1 --> /boot sdb5 / sda6 \ RAID1 --> LVM --> /root, /home, /usr, /var... etc. sdb6 / I've succesfully created the raid, and the PV for LVM, but I can't figure out how to create a VG inside the PV. Is it possible using the installer, or should I better install it using one disk, and once installed create the raid/pv/vg, and move everything around by hand? Many thanks in advance, Norberto

USB, AutoMount & VNC

Getting asciidoc

I need to install asciidoc on my build machine. There is a version for CentOS-5 available at dags rpm site. CentOS VPN server for iPhone

So far, OpenVPN has been working very well for me. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't have (yet?) an OpenVPN client, so I'm forced to work with what's available. The options are: L2TP, PPTP and IPSec. If you were to install a VPN endpoint on CentOS, which protocol would you prefer? The condition is to avoid shabby VPN servers that make the system less secure. I've seen some PPTP servers for Linux in the past but I was not impressed with their security track record. I'm not necessarily talking about crypto, I'm talking about the way the application is written. Another condition is ease of installation. I will compile from source if I have no other choice, but I'd rather avoid wasting time with that, as I'm quite busy with non-tech things nowadays. I have Cent OS 5.1 I also have http://phpsysinfo.sourceforge.net/ I have asterisk running . Now when I look at System Information , I see that "Physical Memory" keep increasing and at one point it reaches 96%. Then my sever get hang and then I have to restart it. I have 4 GB RAM.
