yum update error

Hello, since today I could not update my CentOS 5.3 system with yum cause of the following error message. # yum update [...] Resolving Dependencies --> Running transaction check ---> Package exiv2.i386 0:0.18.2-1.el5.rf set to be updated ---> Package perl-Params-Util.i386 0:1.00-1.el5.rf set to be updated ---> Package perl-Moose.noarch 0:0.86-1.el5.rf set to be updated --> Processing Dependency: perl(Class::MOP) >= 0.89 for package: perl-Moose ---> Package perl-MRO-Compat.noarch 0:0.11-1.el5.rf set to be updated ---> Package exiv2-devel.i386 0:0.18.2-1.el5.rf set to be updated --> Finished Dependency Resolution perl-Moose-0.86-1.el5.rf.noarch from rpmforge has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: perl(Class::MOP) >= 0.89 is needed by package perl-Moose-0.86-1.el5.rf.noarch (rpmforge) Error: Missing Dependency: perl(Class::MOP) >= 0.89 is needed by package perl-Moose-0.86-1.el5.rf.noarch (rpmforge) I have asked about the missing perl(Class::MOP) >= 0.89 package on the rpmforge mailing list without getting any answer. Problems with rpmforge repo?

Hello, Tried yum update all yesterday and today and seems there is a perl dependency missing. Does anyone know if it is a problem or just a sync thing and that I should be more patient. Flash Drive problem?

I've been having an odd problem lately. When I drag files from the computer to a flash drive, they appear to copy, but when I try to use the files I find that only the name was copied (file size of 0). When I copy the same files to the same flash drive, from the terminal, everything seems to work. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this? Correct way to disble TCP Segmentation Offload (tso off) in CentOS 5

Hi, What's the correct way to disble TSO (TCP Segmentation Offload) in RHEL5? I have tried adding those options in ifcfg-ethX configuration file: # grep ETHTOOL /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 ETHTOOL_OPTS="tso off" And also with: ETHTOOL_OPTS="-K eth0 tso off" But when restating the server TSO is enabled: # ethtool -k eth0 tcp segmentation offload: on As a temporary solution, I'm executing this command in a start script: /sbin/ethtool -K eth0 tso off But I think it can be configured in network configuration files, any idea to solve this? thanks!! Getting started with NFS

Hi, I've never been using NFS before, but I'm going to need it. I gathered some documentation (Deployment Guide, RHEL 5 Unleashed, general NFS docs) and I have a few machines to experiment with. After about two hours of reading and experimenting, I must admit the documentation is confusing, to say the least. Although some step-by-step tutorials are provided, none of them work. For example, the RHEL deployment guide mentions NFSv2, NFSv3 and NFSv4... but as much as I poke around, I don't even find a way to checkout which one of the version I'm running. So... 1) Can you suggest some reliable and well-written (think: newbie-friendly) documentation about NFS? 2) Usually I start out from a minimal install on desktop as well as servers. Which packages are needed on the servers side, and on the client side, in order for NFS to work correctly? None of the docs mentioned above says a word about it. Thanks, Niki

Unable to install 64 bit on x3650

Greetings, I am trying to install Centos 5.3 on IBM x3650 with Adaptec based ServeRAID 8k Just two disk in RAID 1 When trying boot with CD1 the booting process aborts with a kernel panic saying that some unknown-de and some message saying to use the correct 'root=' boot parameter.
