Trouble Ticket System

Hi, Last year, I tried to installed and evaluate the following OSS web base trouble ticketing system. This is for me to track history on our IT related issues. Those that I tried are the PHP Ticket, DanPHPSupport, Epix Power Support, ruQueue, Ticket Express, OTRS, PMOS Help Desk and eTicket. From those, PMOS and eTicket are my top picks. I have problem installing OTRS the last time, so I am unable to evaluate that but will try later. The problem with PMOS is that the developer want to give up the project last time I checked. Aside from the mentioned above, can you suggest others that are better. Any advice from other experiences please. Remember the unknown rootkit problem previously reported?

If the attacker could get a shell, the attacker could have used this local root exploit to get the necessary privileges to install the rootkit. One reason why there seem to be few RHEL reports is that RHEL5 is not that widely available yet but lots of vulnerable Fedora/Debian installations are available.

Apache2::Request on CentOS 5

Hi, Running mod_perl, and trying to get Apache2::Request installed. I can't seem to find an RPM for it. Has anyone got this working on CentOS 5? TIA

tar: no, the file did not change while you read it

CentOS 5.1, i686. I have a directory, say "foo", containing several hundred directories down to about six levels deep, and about 33,000 files. Periodically I make a tar archive of the whole lot: tar cf foo.tar foo and I often get from a few dozen to several hundreds of: tar: XXXXX: file changed as we read it followed by an exit status of zero. I am absolutely sure (100%, positive) that no files were changed during the period that tar was running: some of the files that are often flagged as changed have not been modified in many months, and have only been read by tar and the backup system. If I immediately repeat the tar command, it may succeed without any of these messages or flag a different set of files as changed, when again they have not. I'm sure from Googling that many have seen this. The system does also run Samba and the file system on which these files are resident is accessible from Windows clients, but none of these particular files are ever used from the Window side. The file system is also NFS exported, but again the files are not in use on any NFS client. What is interesting (that is, suspicious) is that on upgrading (clean install) the system from a previous incarnation of CentOS 4.6 (which also exhibited the problem) to CentOS 5.1, keeping the same tar version (1.15.1) and making no hardware changes, the incidence of these messages has _hugely_ increased. I have also seen a couple of repeated instances of "stat <file>" return changed times that differ from one another, and in all cases the file has not changed at all: the difference in the reported change times is always exactly 5 hours (which is my offset from UTC). I can't reproduce that at will. If anyone has a clue stick to beat me with, please do; it's getting a little old. Steve

ESX Server 2.5 - Centos 5.1 guest

Hi Anyone got a driver disk for a CentOS 5.1 install running on an ESX 2.5 server ? When the install runs it seems it cant find any hdd's - In the past with 4.x i have loaded a driver disk but i cant seem to find one for 5.x Does anyone have this running? thanks

Date/Time config 'behind the scenes'

CentOS 5.1 php-curl

I have two boxes nearly identical. I must have a package installed on one and not on the other. I cannot run a php-curl statement on one, and the other I can. Doing a google I find that I simply need to install php-common. According to box that does not work php-common is installed. What did I miss?
