Multiple Instances of Apache on the same IP

Hi All, I'm trying to run multiple instances ( 2 ) of Apache on a single IP address. I need this because I need the two instances to run as different users. I've set up two config files with the following: config-1 config-2 ServerRoot "/etc/httpd" ServerRoot "/etc/httpd" Listen 10.220.1.156:80 Listen 10.220.1.156:8080 Include conf.d/*.conf Include conf.d/*.conf User apache User backuppc Group apache Group backupp DocumentRoot "/var/www/html" DocumentRoot "/var/www/html" When I start either apache it works but when I try to start both the second one doesn't start. Error Message: When I start config-1 first and then config-2 I get the following error message Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443 no listening sockets available, shutting down Unable to open logs When I start config-2 first and the config-1 I get nothing. I suspect the problem is loading the SSL module which in both cases is trying to listen on port 443. So short of removing the ssl.conf file from conf.d or creating duplicate conf.d directories one without the ssl.conf file is there anyway to do this. Regards, Tony -- Tony Molloy. Dept. of Comp. Sci. Does it have posix acls enabled? The details on http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/Readme.txt only mention basic read and write support.

hey friends, I am using Centos 4.0 and I want to upgrate to Kde 3.5.x. Can anyone tell me the yum repository for the same so that I don't have to download the rpms manually just yum upgrade kde I checked on the http://apt.kde-redhat.org/apt/kde-redhat/redhat/4/i386/RPMS.stable/ but kde-redhat-release-3.4.1-1.el4.noarch.rpm rpms are there. CentOS 4.4 ia64?

Greetings list, I had a quick spin through the archives and don't see any discussion on this question: Is there a reason why the ia64 download directories for v4.4 are populated with links to 4.3? (And why the torrent files for v4.3 ia64 don't work?) Now, instead of the symptom, I'll describe my actual problem. Has anyone successfully installed CentOS (any flavor, although I prefer ia64 and stock) on a Sun Microsystems X2200 server? The 4.2 ia64 installer I have detects neither the SATA controller nor the updated network controller. Thank you for your time! -- David.Mackintosh(a)xdroop.com

installing gvcs package and libgtk error

I installed a gcvs package today. I tried to then run gcvs and I get this error: gcvs: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory rpm -qa | grep libgtk returns nothing. yum install libgtk returns Nothing to do. What am I missing? Jerry

Hi, I am running a CentOS 4.3 machine. I wish to move on to 4.4. My problem is that I have some 60 duplicate packages listed below. The kernel and gpg-pubkey packages are different versions of the same (none for the gpg) architecture. All the rest are a x86_64 and i[356]86 pairs. 1. Is this a problem? 2. If yes, what should I do? a) remove the duplicates (the i[356]86) and then 4.3 -> 4.4? b) 4.3 -> 4.4 and only after that remove duplicates? c) something else? 3. How to actually do the removal? Simply 'yum remove ...' or are there some packages that require special care? 4. I have enabled the dries, kbsingh, and rpmforge, repositories for few packages (acroread, pine,...). However, I didn't keep track which packages come from those repos so I can't apply the 'includepkgs' instruction on them. What's the easiest way to recover that information? (Default 'yum list installed' doesn't provide the repository.) Actually, the hardware initialization where I'm seeing the problem happens in /etc/rc.sysinit. I have added an extra debugging line in there to show the names of all of the misc devices that it loads after audio. One of them is apparently the problem, but I haven't been able to reproduce the problem since then, so I'm not sure exactly which one. Probably, I must admit that I haven't got a minute to get back to that problem. Look for kudzu or discover, read about hwdata. If it's some production system and you are afraid of changes, make a backup copy of some runlevel where runlevel<6 and runlevel>1, copy everything from default runlevel (3) and play with that.
