Bug in find command?

I'm going to bugz this if no one tells me I made another brain-damaged error here. Also, if I can get one confirmation, it'll let me breath easier. I ran a version searching for ".cmd" and ".c" just trying to convince myself I'm not *that* brain-damaged. You'd think after all these years that regex compilation would be pretty darn stable... Oh! Install Problem: No CDROM Boot in BIOS

I can't seem to find a way to boot the system using a boot floppy and then switch over to the installation CD's. Has anyone out there managed to load CentOS on a system that can't boot from the CDROM? Charles L. 4.4 kickstart issues

Greetings all, I'm trying to create a CentOS 4.4 kickstart CD (not a network install), duplicating what I've done for Fedora Core 3. I am having a cirular dependency for initscripts, which causes initscripts not to be installed (no /etc/inittab when the boot gets to INIT) The cascade is: initscripts-7.39.25.EL-1.centos4 requires /sbin/nash /sbin/nash is in mkinitrd-4.2.1.8-1 mkinitrd-4.2.1.8-1 requires dev dev appears to be in udev-039-10.15.EL4 udev-039-10.15.EL4 requires hotplug hotplug requires initscripts-7.93.14.EL I'm guessing that the hotplug spec file is wrong. I can build my own version and continue finding conflicts (like the circular dependency between cracker and cracker-dict, for example), but my real question is, how is your iso distribution able to install with this initscripts conflict? Thanks

Todd, If you have any problems with updating yum, get right yum package from: http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/4/os/x86_64/CentOS/RPMS/yum-2.4.3-1.no… and install manually (rpm -i <name of package> ) if you will have any problems get me sudo access to your box for yum and I will do it. Samba setup for CentOS-4.4 workstations

I am trying to get our prototype Linux workstation to allow users to see shares on our legacy MicroSoft Windows-2000 Domain Server, I can find guides for setting up Samba as a Primary Domain Controller but I cannot seem to locate any good and expansive guide for setting up a samba workstation and just joining the domain. Perhaps this is so trivial a process no-one thinks that it requires such a guide. We have user logins to that workstation using the existing Windows Domain controller for authentication but I cannot seem to unlock how to allow access to the shares. We have CUPS configured to the networked printers but I had to use the administrator's id and password to get that to work. I am really looking for a comprehensive guide to the entire process from the CentOS workstation point of view and any pointers to such are earnestly sought. I found this site: http://linux.unimelb.edu.au/server/course/fc3/samba.html which seems to fairly complete but I lack sufficient experience with samba and kerberos to determine exactly what this is telling me. I believe at this point that I should be using the "ADS security model" but I have no idea what a "kerberos realm" is (at least with respect to an existing MicroSoft Domain). I also lack the knowledge of how to configure this portion of the set up so a guiding hand is most welcome. Our fqdn for the Microsoft domain is "brockley.harte-lyne.ca" I have set up the samba server setting to this: Basic: Workgroup: brockley Description: <fqhn of Linux workstation> Security: Auth Mode: ADS Auth.
