editing gnome menu

Is there any easy way to edit the gnome menu under CentOS 4? The same versions of gnome under different distros allow easy (to different degrees) of menu editing.

As you will know from recent posts, CentOS is separating from cAos to become an independent project. As part of that change we are implementing new mailing lists. This new mailing list is now known as centos(a)centos.org and you have been subscribed to it if you were subscribed to centos(a)caosity.org. Due to the large number of people subscribed it has not been possible to retain options etc across to the new list, so if you only want to receive digests or need to change any other options then you will need to login to change them. You can find out the password assigned to you by having it emailled to you from :- http://lists.centos.org/mailman/options/centos The archive of posts has been transferred across to the new list manager. yum stalls <?>

I just installed a fresh 3.3 system (because those are the ISO's I had on hand). Upon running yum update, it starts to download headers and then stalls. I hit Ctl-C and it continues to download about 4-5 more headers and stalls. I hit Ctl-C again and it pulls a few more headers. Anyone seen this and/or know how to fix it? TIA Mike

Problems with list servers?

Kernel Question

OK- A dumb question. Will a "generic"(kernel.org) kernel work with Centos 4? My reason for asking- I'm needing to upgrade from RH9, and would rather go ahead and go with 4 for the 2.6 kernel, but I need a patched kernel (Win4Lin), and I'm not sure they will offer a prepatched version (though they probably will for EL4). Another quick question- In reading the "official" release notes for EL4, I ran across this- > Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 support for SELinux uses Extended > Attributes on ext2/ext3 file systems. Perl wierdness.

Ok, trying to install amavisd-new from Dag. Getting into a lot of problems, all of which seem to stem from Perl dependency issues. I have built several of the required modules by hand, but then got down to perl-MIME-tools. It builds FINE, but will not install. Why? Turns out, the perl RPM 'provides' perl(MIME::QuotedPrint)=3.01 but the module itself is 3.03. Build a perl module against MIME::QuotedPrint and you get a Requires:perl(MIME::QuotedPrint)>=3.03, which fails on installation.
