Squirrelmail

I have an urgent (isn't it always the way!) need to set up webmail for one of our users. I intalled Squirrelmail, added /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf and etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf/squirrel.conf to my webserver config (which is not RH stock) and ran the squirrelmail conf.pl I know nothing at all about php, so am having a hell of a time diagnosing the errors, and the squirrelmail.org site knows of no RH distro after 7.3 and has been wikispammed anyway. Google's not been helpful so far. So... is anyone running squirrelmail on their CentOS site, and can they tell me why I'm seeing: Warning: main(../config/config.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/global.php on line 16 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../config/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/global.php on line 16 when I try http://mymachine.mydomain.com.au/webmail/src/login.php Or point me at some useful doco, probably more PHP than squirrel? Especially as the squirrel site seems less than helpful... Perhaps someone can email me with RH specific instructions? Zebee

CentOS-4.0 (RC1) for x86_64 Official Release

The CentOS team is happy to announce the availability of CentOS-4.0 (RC1) for x86_64. This product supports AMD Opteron, AMD Athlon64, AMD AthlonFX and Intel EM64T CPU based computers. A bittorent for the 4 CD binary installation set (in .iso format ) is available from: http://beta.centos.org/centos/4.0beta/isos/x86_64/CentOS-4.0.rc1-x86_64-bin… The only way to download ISO's is via bittorrent. Please leave your download client running after the download is complete (with ports 6881-6889 open) as your client will become part of the peer to peer bittorrent network and reduce the load on our network mirrors. If you need some quick pointers for getting up to speed on bittorrent read: http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=24 The mirrors that host the OS tree are currently syncing. However, the BitTorrent is live now. --------------------- NOTE: This is a Release Candidate distribution build and may not be suitable for use in production environments. We encourage you to provide feedback on this build via the Mailing Lists. However, any errors or bugs you encounter should be reported to us via bugzilla on http://www.centos.org/bugs --------------------- RC1 - Expected life span is 14 days from Release. Within this time period we expect to move to a Final Release. Unless there are any urgent security issues, there will be no package update provided for RC1. If you are currently running CentOS4/Beta x86_64 you should take a look at the release notes at : http://beta.centos.org/centos/4.0beta/os/x86_64/RELEASE-NOTES-en.html, before attempting an upgrade. We are working on an upgrade path from CentOS3 to CentOS4. Once complete, it will be posted into the Mailing Lists as well as posted online at www.centos.org --------------------- There are no known issues. The system installers have been tested extensively in house by the CentOS developers and Testers. Known good install methods include CD-Rom, HTTP, FTP, PXE, NFS and local Hard Drive based. partition table Cent4RC1

I just installed CentRC1 on a Dell gx150 as a test. I'm running into the same problem I had with Fc3. I get a partition table error when trying to use ghost8 to create an image. I was considering putting Cent4 on a ProliantDL380, FC3 installed on that machine but wouldn't boot up, stuck on Grub. I had FC2 on the Proliant but when FC2 went to the 2.6 kernel, it hung up on the Nash prompt. So I ended up putting WBEL on that machine. I'm still evaluating what OS I want to finally put on there. Looks like Centos3 or a BSD. So my question is, does anyone know if RH will ever put the 2.6 kernel in RHEL3? I'm not getting a lot of warm fuzzies anymore from linux, since the 2.6 kernels have come out. I can hang with CentOS3 until 2008 as long as the kernel stays with something that works. screensavers stopped working

Hi First off Centos is Great!! I have thin clients running under Centos with no problems at all ! My question is not a major problem - in my spare time I play a 3D demo Unreal Tournment 2003 , just wondering if anyojne knew why my 3D screensavers would have suddenly not work? My video card is Nvidia mX 4000 , no problem running the UT2003 Demo I have on it , but for some reason all I get is a black screen where my screensavers should be? cheers Mike
