LinuxWorld Expo Update

Well, the first day was interesting. We a variety of questions from why do we do this, what's going on with RH, how come this is the first I've heard of you. And hundreds more. The good thing is that we've recieve a very positive response from everyone that visited our booth. Such a positive response that all our CentOS CD's are gone, and most of the cAos CD's are gone, and I've only got a few CentOS DVD's left. So if anyone can magically make 500 or 600 CentOS CD's magically appear, that would be great. :-> Anyway, I'll try to keep everyone posted during the day. I installed CentOS 4 Beta on an ATA disk to have a look at it, and on the same computer I have a Windows installation on a SATA disk. In the CentOS installation process it could see the operatingsystem on the SATA and everything looked good, it said something like "Other... /dev/sda" (not quite sure, it looked right so I didn't really take note of it). Now when I want to boot the windows installation is is attempting to boot from /dev/hdd, and that disk isn't even there? I had CentOS 3 on the ATA disk before and there it did the same thing, it's not a big problem as I just have to hit Esc and select the SATA before it starts booting, but shouldn't this be corrected somewhere? brgds Ulrik -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by OpenProtect(http://www.openprotect.com), and is believed to be clean.

If CentOS changes its release policy, I might use a completely different Linux distribution like Debian. Dave, Is there a new kernel available for the X64 platform? Can you see this in the repo? It might explain why it hasn't upgraded. The i386 may have been the only updated kernel... Based on that.. they are different architectures.... Is there a new kernel for both architectures?
