Removing older kernel packages

Hello, I have problems removing older kernels from my Centos machines using yum. Can somebody tell me how to remove specific versions ? [root@web2 root]# rpm -qa | grep kernel-2 kernel-2.4.21-15.EL.c0 kernel-2.4.21-9.0.1.EL.c0 kernel-2.4.21-9.0.3.EL.c0 Is what I have installed.... And [root@web2 root]# yum remove kernel-2.4.21-9.0.1.EL.c0 Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS-3.1 - Addons Server: CentOS-3.1 - Base Server: CentOS-3.1 - Extras Server: CentOS-3.1 - Updates Finding updated packages Downloading needed headers Erase: No matches for kernel-2.4.21-9.0.1.EL.c0 No actions to take is what I get. Q: No Reiserfs in Kernel

Hello, I have a quick question. I am currious why reiserfs isn't compiled into the kernel? Although RHEL doesn't include the tools to manage reiserfs it includes the kernel drivers. Thanks, Bill

rhn-applet-gui

After doing the updates, my yum and my up2date both tell me the system is totally updated, and it is ... however, my rhn-applet says there are 781 updates ... and it lists as updates packages with exactly the same version ... and even some packages with older versions. Any Ideas? The rhn-applet is: rhn-applet-2.1.4-3.centos.1 Thanks, Johnny Hughes

CentOS 3.1 update2 packages released

The CentOS 3.1 update2 packages have now been released. They are available on mirror.centos.org and should be on all mirrors within a few hours. To update just run 'yum update' Please bugzilla any problems. There was a problem with the pam build in testing not being linked against the laus library, so the released version is a .c0 so that anyone who has installed the testing version will get the real one on updating. The only package that is missing from these updates is rhgb - that needs some artwork and testing and will be done in the next couple of days. The new anaconda and firstboot will be built into a new set of isos - release 3.2 , within the next week or so. Lance -- uklinux.net - The ISP of choice for the discerning Linux user.
