Centos 8 Userland + RPI 3+b

Hi All, I can see that Centos 8 Userland is available.I downloaded it but I did not manage to boot it, got into boot loop or it's just spewing messages and immediately clearing the screen or finally just nothing on the screen. Anyone successfully tried it? Is the root password the same as in Centos 7? Thanks Marcin

cgconfig and cgroup restoring seems broken

Has the way cgroups and cgconfig work changed in el8 from el7? I have this config file that works in el7: $ cat /etc/cgconfig.d/idle.conf # Configuration file generated by cgsnapshot group idle { perm { admin { uid = idle; gid = idle; } task { uid = idle; gid = idle; } } cpu { cpu.cfs_period_us="100000"; cpu.cfs_quota_us="-1"; cpu.shares="2"; } cpuacct { cpuacct.usage="0"; } } Running cgconfig in el8 doesn't seem to restore it. Is this a known bug? Is additional configuration needed somewhere else?

OpenHIP on Centos7 armv7hl

I am working on a project that will use HIP (rfc 7401 plus new drafts) for Unmanned Aircraft (see the tm-rid BOF for IETF106). I am going to need a server or two for this work, and of course I would rather use my Cubieboards as they are easy to carry to the Hackathon at IETF. My colleagues are for the most part Ubuntu based, so I am much on my own. And to boot, I just don't do builds often enough (like once a year or so). So tips on what I will need other than to install make? Anyone here in Singapore, stop by the IETF meeting the week of the 16th! thanks

ARM64 and Raspberry Pi4

https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/AltArch/AArch64 The support for the latest Pi is pretty lightly documented on the above page and elsewhere. There are hints that CentOS7 might be supported. What is the situation? If it can be run, what has to be changed on the wiki to clarify this? I would like to run CentOS on a rack of Pi4 with 4GB. Ideally add Cloudstack, Kubernetes and Docker to make a very low cost cloud. Hard to find a clear description of whether this is possible and how to do it. Centos specific patch for uboot images

First of all congratulations and thanks for the latest 7.7 release; updated several systems without issues! As mentioned in an other conversation it is the logical continuation of 7.6-updates nevertheless found some nice surprises in the armhfp and especially aarch64 extras repository's including updated u-boot images This being said it saddens me to see in the source file of the uboot-tools-2019.07-3 they still carry a Fedora specific patch. While it is not a difficult fix the get centosisms in. Especially since the upstream maintainer (intentionally?) reverted the order of first two distro specific patches. (This makes a clean patch possible without patching the patch.) I know it is not a encouraged to boot aarch64 on our SBC's, nor is it my objective to promote this.
