Is there a rpm-ed Chromium package? Has anyone managed to get this to build on armv7hl recently?

Xorg Segfault, Firefox Illegal Instruction

I took the CentOS 7 arm32 image for a spin today and ran into some issues. Is there a bug tracker that anyone pays attention to for semi-supported altarch like armv7? I'm using a Tegra 2 based system Issues: 1) Xorg segfaults while probing platform, according to the logs. Only solution I have found is to create a new .repo file for CentOS 7.5 and downgrade xorg-x11-server-Xorg to 1.19.x from CentOS 7.5. 2) Firefox 60.x dies on startup with an Illegal Instruction error. FF 52.7 from CentOS 7.5 works. Is anyone working on either of these? I think the former affects more than just ARM. Gordan

Old dtb directory not deleted

I just did an update that installed a new kernel. All the old kernel files were deleted from /boot except for the dtb directory. In this case, dtb-4.14.82-201.el7.armv7hl Here is a list of the /boot directory. Doesn't the /boot/dtb-%{version}-%{release} directory come from the kernel rpm? If so, it's the kernel rpm cleanup that should remove it. Or at least that's what happens with my own kernel rpms.

Stateless CentOS on ARM question

Hello, A colleague and I are trying to get an ARM server to boot stateless (i.e. diskless). Has anyone had any success with this? Our primary source of inspiration is the documentation for the Pegasus cluster: http://web.mst.edu/~vojtat/pegasus/administration.htm Basically, the idea is to have the kernel load a custom initramfs that decompresses a file system image onto a tmpfs at boot time (along with some other setup), then execute a `switch_root` to said tmpfs. We have succeeded in getting an x86_64 machine to boot (mostly) diskless, using the disk only for the boot process by creating a GRUB entry. However, when we try this with my ARM (ThunderX) server, the kernel panics during the boot process because it cannot find init. We have also tried passing `init=/init` as a kernel parameter with no luck. The error message is Kernel panic - not syncing: No working init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. See Linux Documentation/init.txt for guidance. We looked at the referenced documentation and it's not a ton of help for my specific case. The initramfs environment is based on Busybox, which we compiled on a ThunderX machine (the same one we are trying to boot from, in fact). We have considered compiling my own kernel with the initramfs built in, but we are trying to avoid doing that. Further, we have tried with the 3.10 and 4.4 kernels on x86, and with 4.5 and 4.14 kernels on aarch64. Does anyone have any guidance? Also, please let us know if you need more information. My Howto guides for CentOS on Cubieboards and Odroid have been updated! You can get to them via: http://www.htt-consult.com/arm.html I recently lost a drive and had to quickly rebuild a system (fortunately not a critical use one). It went reasonably well using my own instructions, but just was challenging to do all the select and copy work. So I learned some CSS and Javascript and made all the text areas directly selectable/copyable. Note the mailserver is still a work in progress. Maybe after this distraction I will get back to it.

ARM aarch64 rootfs questions

Hello, I've some small arm (rock64) boards for which I want to deploy CentOS. They are based on uboot. I've a custom kernel, then I deploy the (old) provided rootfs (CentOS-7-aarch64-rootfs-7.4.1708.tar.xz). Everything is working properly, but now I want to have an up to date image (ideally with less components to remove after deployment) to flash my other devices. I've two questions: * Why an up to date image 1810 is not provided ? * What would be the proper and cleaner way to do it myself (for example with deploying a clean true minimal system on a qemu aarc64 VM), maybe a simple tar, but what arguments should I care to be as clean a possible regarding permissions and SELinux context ? Hello, I built an SD card with CentOS-Userland-7-armv7hl-generic-GNOME-1810-sda.raw, and it looks like X doesn't want to start. Is that a known issue? (any ideas on how to fix this?)
