nspluginwrapper included in CentOS 5.2 fails completely

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I run CentOS 5.2 x86_64 on my workstation at home. Since 5.2 came out with nepluginwrapper bundled into it, none of my plugins work. I thought it was just a problem with the flash plugin, but neither the mplayerplug-in plugins nor the adobe acrobat reader plugin work, either. I have this problem both with the Seamonkey contributed 64-bit build and my own (otherwise perfectly working) native build of the 2.01a pre-release trunk build (which I have been using since January, with occasional updates, the most recent being about a week ago). I have not tried going back to the 32-bit release of Seamonkey, although I suppose that's next. I stopped using that when it kept crashing when I tried to save a web page after having visited some unknown threshold level of pages (i.e., it wouldn't do this on the first or second web page, but somewhere down the line, a threshold was crossed and it would crash fairly regularly). In discussions with the Mozilla folks, I concluded that the problem had something to do with running the 32-bit release on my 64-bit OS. Due to some peculiarity in the 1.x Mozilla build process, I was never able to build a 64-bit version of the 1.x releases, but I had no trouble running the L&G not-yet-released revision, with occasional glitches from the bugs that I ran into (and reported). But, back to the point: There are two major issues I have with the 5.2 bundled nspluginwrapper: 1) The nspluginwrapper program itself is gone, which makes it a little (lot) harder to manage and troubleshoot the problems. and, more importantly: 2) None of the 32-bit plugins that are supposed to be wrapped work. Period. Is this something I should report in bugzilla, at CentOS (and upstream)? I didn't see it in the bugs listed at CentOS.org. Thanks. mhr

can CentOS act as an iSCSI server?

Hi all, I would like to know if I could share some space on on of my servers, to another server(s) using the iSCSI protocal? I can see that CentOS can connect to an iSCSI server, but can it act as a iSCSI server? Is so, does anyone have some good HOWTO / tutorials / docs on how to set it up? I'm running CentOS 5.2 -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers

A recap of the problems for my configuration: Centos 5.2, x86_64, PNY 9600 GT 512 Mb video, Rosewill R913J 19" LCD monitor, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L mobo, Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 Gb RAM. Using the latest Nvidia x86_64 driver package (177.82) I could not get the 1280x1060 resolution (I could get nothing but 640x480). Additionally, while attempting various fixes, the monitor base color turned blue. Cure: 0. I set run level 3 in /etc/inittab and then executed 'telinit 3' to work from a text display. 1. I set the Rosewill in VGA (analog) mode--that is the only mode that will work with the Nvidia driver (discovered by trial and error). 2. I deleted the existing xorg.conf file (at /etc/X11). 3. I used nvidia-xconfig to write a new xorg.conf file. 4. I initially tested with startx, but that didn't work with my set up. I found that using "gdm" let me see a successful X server. 5. After a successful X start at the desired resolution, I then set run level 5 and executed 'telinit 5'. Weird monitor base color: 6. To reset the monitor base color back to normal I had to clear the BIOS CMOS memory and reload the BIOS defaults. Note that the Nvidia list of Linux-capable video cards at <http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_18897.html> (thanks to John Stanley) is the one to consult to ensure a card is usable under Linux. I have found no card manufacturers with any significant degree of tech support for Linux, so I cannot recommend one over the other (over the years I have tried cards from MSI, XFX, EVGA, PNY, and others, but it was always hit or miss--I usually looked at the READMEs with the Nvidia driver packages but that has proved to be unreliable for me--once more, thanks to John Stanley for pointing out the other list that I have always overlooked). SVN missing libexpat.so.0 while it is present

Hello, Hopefully I am sending this to the correct mailing list but it seemed best suited for troubleshooting :-) I am trying to fix Subversion which isn't working for me on one of our machines: every attempt to run 'svn ls' or 'svn co' ends in: svnserve: error while loading shared libraries: libexpat.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Which is strange as the symlink is present in /lib/libexpat.so.0 (which points to /lib/libexpat.so.0.5.0) and /usr/lib/libexpat.so.0 - I even tried copying an identical libexpat.so.0.5.0 from another machine. Oracle start up script issue with RHEL3 Cluster

Hi all I am running two node active/passive cluster on RHEL3U8-64 bit operating system for my oracle 9i database.I am facing issue when cluster fail over to node 2 my oracle start up script not starting up even though i configured start up script in my cluster configuration but if i type clustat on node 2 it shows service is started. If i shift the service manually from node 2 to node 1 or even if rebooted the node1 my cluster starting up the same service properly on node 1.Any one help me to fix out this issue.Below is my script. Video Card

I want to be able to use a late-model video card with either Nvidia or ATI (AMD) chips that have the capability to use the GPU for numeric processing through the CUDA or AMD Stream SDKs. I can't find any good source for hardware that really works under Linux, not to speak of Centos. I need a specific model and brand that a user has successfully been able to use the proprietary driver for under Linux. I have tried EVGA Nvidia 9500 GT with no luck. I have also tried XFX 6300 XT (not CUDA-capable) and cannot make it work under Centos, either I am using Centos 5.2, x86_64 on a Gigabyte mobo with Intel Core 2 Duo.
