CentOS 5 and the nvidia driver

Has anyone with an nvidia video card had issues with CentOS 5 so far? I've been holding off on installing 5 at home because of the trouble I've been having with my video here at work, but here I have that lovely ATI card and there I have a geFORCE 7100gs and am, so far, successfully using the nvidia driver with CentOS 4.4 without significant problems. Netgear WG511v2 card and CentOS 4.4

Alle, Does anyone have any experience with with Netgear WG511v2 cards and V4.4? I read the post @ http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4600&forum=30&po… but the system doesn't even seem to see the card. "/sbin/cardctl ident" shows no info on slot 0/1. "/sbin/modprobe prism54" comes back with nothing. I thought this was supposed to work out of the box. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Camron -- Camron W. CentOS 5 install - libgcc signature verification warning in install.log

Hi, I installed CentOS 5 from DVD and noticed this warning at the top of /root/install.log: Installing libgcc - 4.1.1-52.el5.i386 warning: libgcc-4.1.1-52.el5: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID e8562897 Wondering if anyone knows why this error occurs. Is this expected? Thanks, Venkat

On 2 srv centos 4.4, run slapd. On one, supportedSASLMechanisms order is : supportedSASLMechanisms: DIGEST-MD5 supportedSASLMechanisms: GSSAPI supportedSASLMechanisms: CRAM-MD5 and on the other one is : supportedSASLMechanisms: GSSAPI supportedSASLMechanisms: DIGEST-MD5 supportedSASLMechanisms: CRAM-MD5 i'd like to use GSSAPI on all srv ... megasr Sata Raid driver and the lastest kernel

Hi List I'm trying to update to the lastest kernel but I have a dirver that is not inculded in the distrubution, and I had to use the driver disk when installing centos 4.4 in the first place, The driver megasr .ko works fine with the installed kernel but I cannot find on for the updated kernel, any adive would be appreciated. without the updated driver there is a kernel panic on boot due to not finding the correct hard drive controller driver Thanks in advance for your help Robb

I'm in an all-Dell shop and am contemplating buying one of these to use as an "emergency gateway server" in case my primary fails. It'll let me take the primary out of service to upgrade its OS. Has anyone installed CentOS on one of these? Any gotchas? Centos 5 killing applications

I recently upgraded to CentOS5, and now I have application that suddenly close. Did not have any problem under 4.x Applications that crash regularly. Claws mail [compiled under CentOS5] VMware 5.5.3 workstation I see nothing in /var/log/messages. In vmware-0.log I have: May 11 00:18:56: vmx| * May 11 00:18:56: vmx| * The UI terminated unexpectedly. May 11 00:18:56: vmx| * If you file a bug or support request about this issue, May 11 00:18:56: vmx| * please include log and core file(s) from the UI if May 11 00:18:56: vmx| * available. May 11 00:18:56: vmx| * May 11 00:18:56: vmx| Unable to continue without a UI. Any suggestion on what's causing the crashes.
