Where are the Centos 7.1 1503 KVM repos please?

Hi all. I have just installed Centos 7.1 from the DVD image: http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/mirror.centos.org/7/isos/x86_64/CentOS-7… and I cannot find the KVM modules. Are they in a repo that is not in the base distribution please? Kind Regards, Keith

Adding a monitor socket to a virtual guest using virt-manager

Hi all, I need to add a monitor socket to a kvm guest as I can using qemu from coammnd line. Sample: -chardev socket,path=/tmp/sock0,server,nowait,id=sock0 -mon chardev=sock0,mode=control Is this prossible to add this to guest's xml config file?? If not, (and If I am not wrong), could it be possible to add these options inside "/etc/libvirt/hooks/qemu" startup script?? Some example?? Thanks.

Windows 10 tech preview build 10130

Hi Everyone, Has anyone managed to install Windows 10 tech preview build 10130 as a KVM on a CentOS 6 host? I'm having problems that I haven't been able to get past. I can get the CD to boot and the install process to begin, but Windows keeps complaining about missing drivers. I've unsuccessfully tried the VirtIO ISOs from the Fedora project. The images I tried were: virtio-win-0.1-100.iso virtio-win-0.1.105.iso virtio-win-0.1.96.iso I have two IDE CD-ROMs attached which appears to be working fine (otherwise the installer wouldn't start and I wouldn't be able to traverse the VirtIO ISO). The NIC was an e1000, but I changed it to rtl8139. I've changed the HD from IDE, to Virtio iscsi to Virtio disk and none of that has seemed to help. I'd appreciate some pointers/tips. Live migration using shared storage in different networks

Hi! I am building a KVM cluster that needs VM live migration. My shared storage as well as the KVM hosts will be running CentOS. Because 10 Gbps Ethernet switches are very expensive at the moment I will connect the KVM hosts to the storage by cross-over cables and create private networks for each connection (10.0.0.0/30 and 10.0.0.4/30). The following diagram shows the topology Management Management Management VLAN VLAN VLAN | | | +----+-----+ 10 Gbps +----+----+ 10 Gbps +----+-----+ | KVM Host |-----------| Storage |-----------| KVM Host | +----+-----+ +----+----+ +----+-----+ | | | Public Public Public VLAN VLAN VLAN My question is: will live migration work in this configuration since the storage will have 2 different IP addresses (10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.5) in 2 different networks even though it is the same storage? Thanks!

Hi guys I'm Danilo Falcão (fcon), a Sys Admin from Brazil and living in Germany. Recently I have joined Fedora QA & Infrastructure and now the CentOS project to work with Lokesh (lsm5) building RPMS for Docker and related packages. In the past years I've been working a lot with Virtualization (XEN and KVM mostly) and since Docker appeared I became a big fan of it. I'm also a Bash scripter and a Python Fabric lover.
