Resigning as lead of the Virt SIG

Hi all, I wanted to let you know that I feel I need to step down as leader of the Virtualisation SIG. When I originally was approached by KB to do this, it was always clear that this would be a temporary thing until the SIG got going. At the time, only Xen and CentOS folks were involved with the SIG. Since then, we added oVirt and Docker maintainers, have a total of 5 maintainers and built good momentum. There are two reasons why I feel I should step down as leader of the Virt SIG: a) I have been traveling too much and thus did not have the bandwidth to do this job justice in recent months. b) In addition, it would also make more sense for one of the Virt SIG maintainers who is more closely involved with day-to-day activities to pick up this job. I will still be able to help with PR and other items. When I was absent over the last few months, George Dunlap (gwd on irc) did most of the groundwork and led SIG meetings on my behalf, so I wanted to propose that George leads the SIG going forward. That is assuming that none of the other SIG maintainers want to step up. George agreed in principle. In the last Virt SIG meeting, not all maintainers were present, so we couldn't make a formal decision. KB said the following: kbsingh: I think if gwd is ok with it, and people are ok in the SIG, its good for me This means that succession either has to be settled in the next SIG meeting, or by e-mail responding to this thread. I don't think there is any formal process, but I would suggest that the maintainers listed on https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/Virtualization should have a say either at the next IRC meeting or by replying to this email thread. Disable ps2 mouse and keyboard in a kvm guest

Hi all, I have to do some tests with a kvm guest but I need to disable ps2 mouse and ps2 keyboard and use only usb keyboard/mouse. When I try to remove them, virt-manager adds them automatically. How can I disable all ps2 devices? Any idea? Thanks.

How to debug kernel with kernel-3.10.68-11.el6

Hi all I used kernel-3.10.68-11.el6 as dom0 and config kdump I have got vmcore file when compute crash, but not found debuginfo package from http://debuginfo.centos.org/ I found kernel-3.10.68-11.el6 set CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO=n Why not set this key? CentOS 7.2 libvirtd 1.2.17 bug

Hi, There is a strange issue in the CentOS 7.2 libvirtd 1.2.17 service. If there is a symlink in the "/etc/libvirt/qemu/autostart/" which is created before the libvirtd service is started, libvirtd wont start. Deleting the symlink from the autostart folder, then starting the libvirtd service works. Is this a know issue ? We have found this on 4-5 servers. Regards, Pulkit Gupta

Missing module grub entry in xen-4.4.3-9 & boot issues

CentOS 7 libvirt-1.3.0-1 coming to virt-xen buildlogs

Centos 7.2 has updated its version of libvirt to 1.2.17, which ends up getting installed in preference to the previous virt-xen libvirt package (1.2.15). I've merged in the most recent Fedora libvirt package, 1.3.0, smoked tested it, and pushed it to buildlogs, which can be accessed by adding --enablerepo=centos-virt-xen-testing (after installing the CentOS 7 centos-release-xen package). Please test and let me know if there are any problems. -George

kvm-qemu-ev in testing

hi, kvm-qemu-ev from virt7-kvm-common-release is now signed and available on buildlogs.centos.org for testing, the corresponding release file is available in the centos/7/extras/ location on buildlogs as well. Once we have some testing, we can push and announce via mirror.centos.org for wider adoption. XSAs: Updated CentOS 6 xen and kernel packages in buildlogs

xen-4.4.3-9 and kernel-3.18.21-17 (unsigneg) are now on buildlogs.centos.org, and signed packages should be making their way through the mirror system in the near future. Updated package sources can be found in the virt sig area on CentOS: https://github.com/CentOS-virt7/xen https://github.com/CentOS-virt7/xen-kernel The packages contain updates for XSAs 155, 157, 164, 165, and 166 (released today), as well as patches for XSA-142 and an update to XSA-158. For those urgent to install the updated packages, you can get them from buildlogs by enabling the centos-virt-xen-testing repository: yum --enablerepo=centos-virt-xen-testing update Please report any issues here on the list. -George

Hi, I also face this kind of error while installing centos from usb drive and when I select it uefi mode in bios its got resolve the issue and finally i am able to install centos from usb drive.
