Megacli issue with Xen PERC 5/i Poweredge 2950 II

I am having an issue with Megacli when adding or removing virtual disks. I will post a link to fpaste that has the issue shown. In brief whenever i add, or remove, a virtual disk via MegaCli the attempt succeeds and the adapter is configured but the OS remounts dm-0 in read only. dm-0 is my root lv. This issue does not happen if i boot into the default, non Xen, CentOS kernel. On stock CentOS kernel i can add and remove VD's all day without any issue at all. ONLY happens while booted up with the Xen kernel. I have been racking my brain trying to figure this out. Any help is appreciated. hi, ovirt-3.5-release content is now signed and available on buildlogs, the corresponding -release file is on buildlogs.centos.org as well, in the centos/7/extras/ repos ( so as to reflect final release location on mirror.centos.org ). Kernel oops on the dom0

Hi All, One of our developers managed to trigger a kernel oops on a 4.4.2 dom0.. Oops text is attached. He was working on setting up network namespaces / bridging inside a centos domU, had activated the bridge and lost networking (probably config error) so he rebooted the VM. Ds Oct02 0:06 [tapdisk] At this point the dom0 is still up and running existing VMs fine, I can also migrate live VMs off of it successfully although the post-migration clean up fails and hangs: libxl: error: libxl_device.c:935:device_backend_callback: unable to remove device with path /local/domain/0/backend/vbd/17/51712 Host is running centos 7 with the 4.4.2-7 package and kernel 3.10.68-11.el6.centos.alt.x86_64. I've also attached xl dmesg. First time I've seen anything like this and not sure if his networking/bridging in the domU is related or just coincidental. Any thoughts / ideas? Going to try to reproduce on a test dom0 later this week, so happy to grab any additional debugging if required. - Nathan

CentOS 7 AMI on AWS GovCloud region

Hi, I'm working on building a cluster on AWS atop CentOS 7. For development, I've been working in the eu-west-1 (Ireland) region, where the AWS MarketPlace provides an official CentOS 7 AMI (ami-e4ff5c93). However, the production deployment is taking place in AWS's GovCloud region for regulatory reasons, and there, I couldn't find an official CentOS 7 AMI. Are there plans to provide an official CentOS 7 AMI for the GovCloud soon? Or instructions on how the official AMIs are built? Hi it is possible to use xen and spice already? If yes is there any howto or doc how? CentOS 6 Xen virt* issues

Hello, I just upgraded some of my el6xen boxes to latest CentOS 6.7, Xen 4.4.3 and dom0 3.18.17 rpms, and noticed these new problems: 1) virt-manager fails to start with an error: "D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read machine uuid: Failed to open "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id": No such file or directory" And indeed.. there was no such file. Running command "dbus-uuidgen --ensure" fixed it, and virt-manager starts OK after that. So this was more for the mailinglist archives, if someone else meets the same issue. 2) virt-viewer doesn't work anymore. It seems in el6.6 virt-viewer was version 0.6.0-11, but now in el6.7 it's 2.0-7, with a lot of changes.. memory balloon on XenServer 6.5 does not work for CentOS 6.X with default kernel 2.6.32.XX .
