good small registrar?

Greetings, What are some registrars that members of this list have had good experience with? I was stepping through the godaddy checkout process, and being opted-in to a dozen different upsell features just left a bad impression. But I have no clue who else to go with. -Eugene

recent rsyslog package available for CentOS?

Hi, I'm looking for a recent version of rsyslog. The yum repositories only show me a version that is 2.0.6. According to the www.rsyslog.com site, they are up to version 5 (dev), which means that I would think/assume that there would at least be v3 or v4 available somewhere. Does anyone know if/where I can find something more recent than 2.0.6? Thanks, Eric

The mirrorlist entry in my Fedora-11 /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-update.repo reads: mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released- f$releasever&arch=$basearch As far as I can see, this means that yum is looking for the file metalink at mirrors.fedoraproject.org ? Anyone have experience with using a Sensa Fuze mp3/ogg player on CentOS 5.x? I'm looking for a player that plays vorbis and isn't a M$/DRM/Apple slave and this one looks like a good one to buy. Thanks for any help!

My server reboots every hour! Help please!

How do I troubleshoot these restarts? I suspected hardware failure (power supply, cooling fans, etc.) but somehow the restarts happen way too periodically, so I have second thoughts on software as well. CentOS 5.3, fully updated. Btw, I don't have physical access to the machine until September, so diagnosing hardware is pretty limited atm. Only remote ssh available. I would really appreciate any advice on this! Help with pppd

Hi guys I'm new to the list. There is something I want to ask. I'm running Centos 5.3. Everything works pretty good. I need to set up somescripts to make a dialup conection to a closed network. I'm using the scripts from ppp-2.4.4. Everything id going fine exept for one issue. Remote access server use radius autentication. How can I dial in using ppp-on script and auteticate against the remote radius server? Hope some of you can help. Thanksin advance. David

Firefox 3.5 Issues

I downloaded Firefox 3.5 from the M. Harris site and, for the most part, have had good luck with it. But I have also had hard crashes that take down CentOS, not just Firefox. It happened to me twice on eBay (on the same page) -- and now I can replicate it as many times as I want by going to... http://wiki.centos.org/Newsletter ...and choosing one of the two newsletters, linked there. I'm writing for a couple reasons. I'm curious to see if this is only my problem, or if other have experienced it or can replicate it. And I was also wondering how I can remove Firefox 3.5 and its associated support files and get back to the regular repository. Firefox 3.5, for the most part, is very stable and is snappier than 3.0.11 -- only two sites have pages have crashed for me, but when it crashes it takes down my whole system and that's not good. And, if someone could mention this on the forum (there is a thread about Firefox 3.5) I would appreciate it. I can't log on to the forums. I am supposed to ask for another password, but I can't remember what my original email address was (2 or 3 years ago). Thanks for any pointers. -- RonB -- Using CentOS 5.3

passing alias addresses

hi all, When using the alias address scheme, like eth1:0 on a machine ... things are working. When that interface is disabled on box A and becomes active on box B what should Box B do to correctly update the ARP tables external to box B so the external world knows how to get to the new destination and not the old box A?
