heartbeat-2.0.4 in the Testing Repo

We have added heartbeat-2.0.4 for CentOS 4 into the testing repository at dev.centos.org. Copy the testing CentOS-Testing.repo file from here: http://dev.centos.org/centos/4/ to /etc/yum.repos.d/ , then use this command to install heartbeat: yum --enablerepo=c4-testing install heartbeat Report issues with this to the heartbeat-2.0 tracker here: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1305

notifications about fasttrack updates ?

BackupPC in the Testing Repo

We have added BackupPC for CentOS 4 into the testing repository at dev.centos.org. The version of BackupPC is 2.12 including the p1 patchset of Feb 2006. Here is the documentation for BackupPC: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/faq/BackupPC.html Copy the testing CentOS-Testing.repo file from here: to /etc/yum.repos.d/ , then use this command to install backuppc: yum --enablerepo=c4-testing install backuppc yum may bring in other dependencies like samba-client, samba-common, perl-Archive, perl-Compress, perl-File-Rsync, httpd, mod_perl, etc. -------------------------------------------------------- This version of BackupPC uses mod_perl and requires editing of the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file and changing the User and Group from apache to backuppc, so that they look like this: User=backuppc Group=backuppc This may cause some other programs to require setup changes. In fact, it is recommended that the backup machine serve no other web sites except the backuppc CGI interface. You must start httpd and backuppc prior to accessing the backuppc site using this command: service httpd start service backuppc start Then you can access the web interface with: http://127.0.0.1/backuppc/ The default username and password are: username: admin password: admin Please click on the "Documentation" Link on the left frame and then click the "CentOS README" link for more setup information. compat-gcc-32-c++-3.2.3-47.3 and 3.3.2 support

Hi all, 4.3/rh release is shipping compat-gcc-32-c++-3.2.3-47.3 which i can see includes 3.2.3 & 3.3.4 support but if i need support for 3.3.2 libstdc++ what should i do? I've searched for compat pkgs and no one has 3.3.3 support, im wondering if installing 3.3.2 gcc tools from gnu sources is a good idea or check if 3.3.2 rpm for this exists. Is that compat-* pkgs something related to RH only? TIA Jose

PhpMyAdmin in testing repo

What is the rationale behind phpMyAdmin 2.7.0 as a CentOS package? The new 2.8.0.2 introduces a new authentication mechanism. How do you plan to handle upgrades ie if someone has 2.7.0 and needs to get 2.8? I know Gentoo and Debian have phpbb (which I'm not concerned about) but they must face similar problems with all the security releases.
