installing cbs client on Fedora

Hi folks, What is the best way to get /usr/bin/cbs and the corresponding Koji profile config on Fedora? I'm wondering if we should package centos-packager in Fedora. My concern is that pull requests are not merged upstream at https://github.com/bstinsonmhk/centos-packager/pull/3 - Ken

recent updates cause grub not to load please advise

seems the updated pushed recently to centos stream (I updated about an hour ago) now cause my pc to hang after BIOS...it never gets to grub could this be the GRUB_ENABLE_BLSCFG issue that has come downstream from fedora ? any advice would be most greatly appreciated thanks

kernel-4.18.0-193.13.2.el8 released?

Hi, RHEL has also kernel-4.18.0-193.13.2.el8 released. Will this kernel also be released for CentOS [1]? Its the "latest" kernel before the grub/shim updates and I would like to test some issues with machines that do not boot the -193- kernels ... SIG meeting schedule - incorrect data

Hi, SIG members, As you may be aware, the repo where your meeting schedules live is here: git@github.com:CentOS/Calendar.git The content there then gets generated into https://www.centos.org/community/calendar/ and the associated ical file. Many of the records in there are incorrect - either the meeting times, or the SIG leader information, or both. Please have a look at the generated page, and if your information is incorrect please either send a PR to that git repo, or send me the information directly so that I can correct it. Thanks! --Rich

Additional IRC meeting channel

I set up #centos-meeting2 that can be used for IRC meetings in the event that #centos-meeting is busy when you would like to hold a meeting. This channel has the same configuration as #centos-meeting and I've added the same config overrides as are in place in #centos-meeting so the guardbot doesn't take action unnecessarily. Availability of CentOS 7/8 AMIs through AWS Marketplace

Hi, Long-time user of CentOS 7 AMIs from the AWS Marketplace. I see that the latest CentOS 7 and all CentOS 8 AMIs are only available outside of the Marketplace ("These images are published outside of the AWS Market Place and are shared directly" - https://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/AWS) I'm really keen to understand if this is short-term situation, or if this is the indefinite future of CentOS AMI releases? There were a number of benefits to the Marketplace model - mainly for us is the ability to use Packer to fetch the latest AMI for the product code, plus also notifications. Are there reasons behind the recent change? Many thanks, Marc

cloud-init default username

Hi, CentOS 7 has cloud-init with default username set to `centos`. The CentOS 8 uses standard `cloud-user`. The patch responsible for change is https://git.centos.org/rpms/cloud-init/blob/c7/f/SOURCES/cloud-init-centos-… There is no similar patch in https://git.centos.org/rpms/cloud-init/blob/c8/f/SOURCES Should it be fixed or is it expected behavior? It's quite important for me, because if it changes in the future some of our docs will have to be updated. Bests, Alex
