time stray on the latest centos release: 2.6.9-11.EL

Hi, The clock on my laptop seems to be straying dramatically from the real time even if I turn off ntpd. Could it be the clock applet itself? After I run rdate with ntpd off, it starts to stray right away. This started in the last two weeks after doing many updates. Has anyone else seen this, or even fixed it? Thanks in advance, Blair.

So nothing on that is going to change. Secondly, Feel free to evaluate what SMEserver are doing w.r.t installer and submit patches for the ServerCD. Getting CentOS up to date on SPARC

Hi all, I hope this is the correct list for this question: how trivial/non- trivial would it be to get CentOS/SPARC up to speed again on a Netra X1? I have primarily used Linux on x86 the last twelve years or so. I have only little experience with SPARC machines. The reason I am asking is because I have seen some cheap Netra X1s on the net at low prices, and it seems like a fun project for the summer :). -- Daniel

Hi, Unless someone else does pick it up for keeping it up, i'll stop maintaining it at end of August 2006. Until then it's only security maintained and no enhancements are made. I don't get into details behind this as it would just make things look too ugly. Custom CentOS distribution

Hello everyone, Long time RedHat and Gentoo user, and taking to CentOS for our server work. Have had really good experiences so far specially with yum. Retiring the Tao Linux project

Hi all, Over the last year or so I've been watching my employer's and my own finances slowly go down the drain, with quality of life and happiness not far behind. Finally this spring, I decided I would have to do something before things got really bad. What I've done is get another job - a REALLY GOOD job, in a very nice area where I'm confident that I and my family will be very happy. I'll be a 'Network Engineer', and as such I'll only spend 5-10% of my time on system administration type stuff. I will, of course, run a Linux desktop (probably dual-boot Fedora latest/RHEL latest). My new employer has also opted for the site license of RHEL, so there's no good reason for me to continue cloning on work time. Now that I have 3 young children, I've spent very, very little of my home time on Tao, and have no intention of taking time away from family for it. So I've spent some time over the past weeks planning an exit strategy, and after conferring with other Tao developers, several of the Tao users I know, as well as the CentOS developers, I've come up with a plan which I've implemented and published at: http://taolinux.org I won't repeat everything here, but I'd just like to say thanks to all the great Tao users who have made this project so fun and interesting. Centos 4.2/4.3 Alpha Architecture X11 crash on Matrox Video with signal 11

'lo! So nice to see an updated Alpha distro... I currently am having a nasty little problem with X11 on my Alpha. I get constant signal 11's when using the MGA driver, and the VGA driver simply panic's the system. I've tried Centos 4.3 and Centos 4.3, and both have the problem. >From what the following thread: http://www.redhat.com/archives/axp-list/2000-December/msg00410.html Seems to describe the symptoms I'm getting. I've not rebuilt X or glibc, since the libc5 days and am not experienced in working with SRPM's. Any guidance on how to do the modification noted in the above thread to a SRPM would be greatly appreciated, or preferred (for the lazyman inside me), some prebuilt packages :) .... would be greatly appreciated. -Will

Hi I am one of the pleased users of firefox-1.5.0.2-3.c4.centos but now I wonder if it will get update any time in the future because 1.5.0.4 is few days out already.
