Potfix centosplus

Hi, why postfix.i386 2:2.2.10-1.RHEL4.2.mysql_pgsql.c4, a new version from CentosPlus has dependency postgresql 7.4.13-2.RHEL4.1? I guess postgresql-libs is enough. Thanks, David Hrbáč

rpm-4.3.3-18: rpm --root failure(s)

4.4 enterprise update?

Why was the update to 4.4 automatic? Having a lot of new features automatically installed it not why we run an "enterprise" OS. I would like to be able to plan and test that kind of events. A better way of handling it would be what I am used with from another "enterprise" distro: Already yum looks for the release in the "Version:" header of the package specified in yum.conf:distroverpkg (centos-release in our case). However the version is 4 and not 4.4 as one would expect (and 4 in the 4.3 version as well). # rpm -qp --queryformat="%{version}\n" centos-release-4-3.2.src.rpm 4 # rpm -qp --queryformat="%{version}\n" centos-release-4-4.2.i386.rpm 4 This means that $releasever in our CentOS-Base.repo will be 4 and not 4.4 as we would like. If the the "Version:" of the centos-release rpm is in sync with the CentOS release version all you have to do to switch is: rpm -U "new centos-release rpm" yum update yum yum update Simple and predictable. /// joakim

iptables-devel in centos 4.4

Hi, I'd like to ask if iptables-devel package is going to be patched by CentOS team to include all header files. Upstream provider still seems to ignore this bug, even it was fixed in FC5. We need to fix it to simplify automatic build of iptables/kernel modules. Thanks, David Hrbac

yum update behavior plugin

hi guys, anyone fancy a shot at writing a yum plugin that would change the yum update behavior a bit. what I'd like to end up with is that if in a yum update process, there is an update to yum itself - that yum update should run first, once done, yum should then restart and run through the rest of yum update. - K -- Karanbir Singh : http://www.karan.org/ : 2522219@icq
