How is updated the csgfs repo in centos4?

hi I just came to wonderling how centos team update the csgfs repo, what is the procedure to do that ?. I use csgfs from centos and works great, thanks a lot for provide it :-) but how you know when uptream provide an update for the packages? I notice the last update because I read the rss alert feed but not because they use the redhat-announce list, neither centos send a messages when there is an update to centos-announce :-( right now I am facing the problem with a lacking of *-kernel packages in csgfs for the newest centos4's kernel; I can, and will, compile the srpms from uptreams for the new -55.0.6 kernel but I am just wonderling how others solve this problem... thanks roger __________________________________________ RedHat Certified ( RHCE ) Cisco Certified ( CCNA & CCDA ) ____________________________________________________________________________________ Shape Yahoo! in your own image. qemu 0.9.0 in c5-testing

Hi all, A package for the qemu machine emulator/virtualizer is now available in CentOS testing for CentOS 5. qemu was added - Because the package contains qemu-img, a handy tool for creating and converting disk images (e.g. for KVM). - For full virtualization on i386 and x86_64 CPUs that don't have VT-X or AMD-V support. kqemu is required for optimal performance, we plan to provide a module package for kqemu in the near future. For the moment, testing can be oriented at using this (qemu-img in particular) in combination with KVM. Once the kqemu module packages are ready, we are also interested in qemu + kqemu testing results. possibility of an extra-hardware-support SIG

Hi guys, I have been thinking about starting something that brings in extra Hardware compatibility and drivers to the stock centos kernel. Perhaps doing this as a SIG might be a good idea. The aim would be ( but not limited to ): - Find and coordinate the efforts by various hardware vendors to support CentOS - Publish a comprehensive ( as much as possible ) install time DriverDisk ( both as an .img and .iso ) - Create, test and publish a mechanism to follow kernel updates ( might need someone to actually have access to some of this hardware, but it should be manageable specially if we can get the attention of hardware vendors ). - Create a feedback-loop that makes it easy for users to request drivers / functionality in the stock and plus kernels. How we deliver on this is perhaps a discussion in itself, and something we can consider when we come to it. - Bring together into 1 place all the various opensource drivers being published by Vendors ( 3ware, areca, tyan, supermicro etc ) for newer versions of their products that are not in the upstream version as yet. This might mean setting up an ftp location somewhere (?) - I would also not mind looking at the very dark grey area of providing updated drivers for some components ( like the recent bcm and marvell ethernet drivers that really do need updating in the upstream kernel ) - but this again depends on how people feel about it - in lots of cases, we might end up step into and through a redhat patch. Now, what does everyone else think ? I'm the Fedora maintainer for both yum-presto and deltarpm, as well as being upstream for yum-presto. I would be very willing to package both yum-presto and deltarpm for CentOS, and to offer some help with buildsys integration (which would be the tricky part). Jonathan
