Testing PHP 5.2.6 and PostgreSQL 8.2.9

Not sure of the protocols for feedback on tested packages, but I installed the PHP 5.2.6 and PostgreSQL 8.2.9 RPMs from the testing repo and both seem to work fine so far with Drupal 7. What is the difference between packages in the top level of testing and those in testing/RPMs, apart from the obvious fact that the top level ones are newer? Organisationally, are there two levels of testing? I downloaded and installed directly with rpm rather than using yum. Do you prefer that testers always use yum? Will have a go at CDS using yum once I get a clean Xen image spun up, I'm still building my infrastructure and things aren't as automated as they could be yet. Mick

I'm attempting to build a PHP 5.2.5 package for CentOS 5.2 (x86_64) using a Fedora SRPM. Satisified all dependencies and looked like it was going to build, but barfed at the end with a known apr/apxs issue - CentOS bug 2934. A workaround suggested in bug report didn't work, but produced a related but different error (I've updated the bug report). There is supposed to be a yum package in testing that fixes this issue. Where can I access the testing repo, or this package? Thanks Mick

Hi Guys, Following Dag's idea (May I Dag ?) of create a CentOS timeline graphical table ... here is a variation of it made last month. Maybe it could be used on http://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/General#head-fe8a0be91ee3e7dea812e8694491e1dde5b… as ilustration. It is a svg file with markers that could be included into our Artwork Building Environment to have it on different languages. Actually the "You are here" pointer is modified manually. Some way to automate this would be cool (IMO). james, thank you so much for your help. indeed, the problem is that /etc/blkid/blkid.tab still has the old ext3 entry. i changed TYPE to xfs and updated the uuid for /dev/sdb, and now it mounts fine with UUID. since i prefer UUID anyway, i did not test label, but assume it was the same issue. yes, we do use the entire device, which never had problems with other fs types, which mount seem to update blkid.tab automatically. still not sure why it did not do so for xfs, but as long as it works, i am happy. cn=John Shen,title=Sys. However, it appears that this only works if there is an entry for this file system in /etc/blkid/blkid.tab (that mount creates/updates) If I umount the file system, and then remove the line for /dev/sdb in /etc/blkid/blkid.tab - I then can't mount by LABEL or UUID - unless I previously mount by device ... This appears to be the case for ext3 as well as xfs ... Using a partition, then all works as expected. HPC Channel in CentOS

Hi Will CentOS be considering to roll out their own hpc channel, since Red Hat has announced it[1]? The SRPMS will be out soon. Since Platform OCS is 100% based on Project Kusu[2], I will be able to assist to help CentOS to have their own hpc channel.
