CentOS 5.1 Kernel for i586 (SRPM patch)

Hi, folks. Building a CentOS-5 Kernel for 586 machines is a quite simple way by enabling i586 in the spec file, adding the kabi information and creating a debug configuration for i586. Glibc and openssl for i586 rebuilds out of the box. Is there a convenient way for CentOS to maintaining i586 for version 5.1+ as it was done on CentOS-4? I have seen already an i586 Kernel for CentOS 5.0 in the plus repository - but I would like to know what problems occurred causing a discontinuing. I've made a patch for the kernel srpm (working on 2.6.18-53.el5 up to 2.6.18-53.1.6.el5) enabling rebuilding for the i586 target. CentOS 5.1 successfully runs on a Pentium 1 (tested: 200 MHz, 64MB RAM). (AMD-K6 should run, too.) The motivation is that some i586 class routers running CentOS-3 which should be replaced with 5. drbd82 RPMS for testing

All, There are drbd82 RPMS for CentOS-4 and CentOS-5 (i386 and x86_64) for testing here: http://people.centos.org/~hughesjr/drbd/ These are designed to be able to live in the same repository as the current STABLE versions. These RPMS are designed as CONFLICTS and not upgrades as there may be some manual actions to upgrade, especially on CentOS-4. Hi, I've just begun to compile some src.rpm from Red Hat Application Stack. For now, Postgresql 8.2.6 and apache 2.2.4 for x86_64 are available. Mysql 5.0.44 failed for now. I'll try to continue some work on RHAS. If some of you are willing to test these, see http://dl.kodros.fr Regards, Laurent

Per Lance's post about a year ago, I'm writing to request access to the centos-qa mailing list. Without archives access it's hard to tell if this list is still active now that CentOS 5 is out of beta, but if so I'd like to help test the ppc64 release... as soon as Karanbir is back from vacation :) I have access to about a dozen ppc64 platforms of various age. No Power5 unfortunately, but pretty much everything before that from Power3 to PPC970. I have 6 years of documented Linux systems administration experience, with another 10 or so before that of incubational fiddling. Centos 5.1 on S390 and s390x

Hi, I was wondering if there has been any interest in continuing the port of Centos to the s390 and s390x forward to version 5.1 of the Centos project. I would be willing to contribute to the project financially or by managing a special interest group for this purpose. But if there has really been no interest beyond my own on this probably can't happen by myself. Currently I use Centos 4.6 on s390x for a sandbox environment for my consulting business and it a proven to be an invaluable tool for this purpose.
