Google's SoC 2009

hi, Is there anyone who would like to take ownership of a CentOS effort into GSoC ? Its something we have often thought about ( I have anyway ), but time restrictions have meant that nothing has happened on this front in many years. Here is what I am expecting : - Someone who can research and work out whats involved, document it somewhere ( wiki perhaps ? ) - Lead the CentOS pitch to google, hopefully pushing through to us getting accepted into the scheme. If that happens then : - Organise wish lists, prioritise what projects we are looking at - Organise the 'student' pool - Organise the 'mentor' pool - Be *the* GSoC-CentOS person. No idea how much time this is going to take, but it should be safe to assume its going to be a few hours/week commitment. And its going to be over a significant portion of the year. autobuild queues

hi, For the next few weeks, the autobuild queus are going to be down. So if anyone needs to build anything, go ahead and drop packages into the queue, but ping one of us : - Tru - Ralph - Johnny or Me about the packages, and we will push it through from this end. If it is possible to trash the harddisk and fill it with the bare stuff to make it work I am willing to lend access to the system for developers and also do some things myself. I am not a programmer but I can spot the incidental error and maybe fix a typo or at least do my best to provide serious feedback in attempts to capture, reproduce and solve issues. presto / deltarpm

hi, The idea of yum-presto and deltarpm support on mirror.centos.org is something that seems to be worth visiting again. I am just wondering if there is anyone who would like to grab the issue, do the testing, workout whats involved and then try and come up with an implementation plan ?
