moving the CR repo into mainstream release

hi guys, We are still in the early days of CentOS-6, and perhaps a change in policy at this time might be acceptable. I'd like to propose moving the CR repo into the mainline repos. So the change I'm proposing is : - to have a /6/ release that is always updated. - to have the /6.X/ releases that are contained to within that point release what this means is that /6/ will point at the most recent release of 6.X/ for the os/ & isos/ repo. The other repos would be local to the /6/ symlink, and will be always updated ( and stay that way ). there is going to be quite a lot of implications backend / mirror side that we will need to work out, but its effort + pain as a one off, for what can be a major improvement in the user experience. thoughts ? - KB

Hello everybody, I remember Karan got the ksplice-code in order to be able to fork this great technology for CentOS and not let got Oracle all alone with this. So what happened the last weeks/months regarding this great idea ? I'd personally and professionally be interested in using it for our deployments but also to contribute where possible - we have no kernel-development knowledge here to help out but maybe we can help in other ways as well. Is there already any project fort he fork going on or did the idea die or sleep silently the last few weeks ?? Curious greetings from switzerland, Andreas

Dependency missing for ipa-server

Hi all, I've an up to date test vm running CentOS 6.0 with CR repo. I've tried to install ipa-server for testing purposes but the "yum install ipa-server" ends with dependencies problems: # yum install ipa-server [...] ---> Package ipa-server.x86_64 0:2.0.0-23.el6_1.2 will be installed --> Processing Dependency: pki-silent >= 9.0.0 for package: ipa-server-2.0.0-23.el6_1.2.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: pki-ca >= 9.0.0 for package: ipa-server-2.0.0-23.el6_1.2.x86_64 ---> Package setools-libs.x86_64 0:3.3.7-4.el6 will be installed --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Package: ipa-server-2.0.0-23.el6_1.2.x86_64 (cr) Requires: pki-ca >= 9.0.0 Error: Package: ipa-server-2.0.0-23.el6_1.2.x86_64 (cr) Requires: pki-silent >= 9.0.0 I know that ipa-server is new in RHEL 6.1, consequently, this packages (and maybe some deps) are not present in CentOS 6, but ipa-server's package is present in CR repo. When i browsed RHEL's ftp on redhat i viewed "pki-core" package that's not present at this time in CentOS's CR repo. So, my question is: This package will be in CR repo or it will be released when C6.1 be ready ? Regards.

So what was the decision about the %subj%? Specifically, where can I find the SRPM for the latest kernel from CR/ repository? Identi.ca and GCL or clisp

Is there a identi.ca client that I can use? And why there is not GCL or clisp in the repo? [urgent] Please, push tzdata update from CR into main 6.0 repo.

Good day. The "tzdata-2011h-3.el6.noarch.rpm" needs to be pushed into mainline 6.0 repo ASAP. The mainline 6.0 repo version of tzdata contains no update for latest Russian (and maybe some others, don't know) timezone changes, causing major headaches. I know it's against mainline policy, but here overal stability is an issue.
