The interface at git.centos.org also has some serious issues: the "Search" function, for example, does not find "centos-git-common", and does not allow an anonymous user to select specific repositories on the "Search" page.

Centpkg: Update documentation, catch exceptions, and a version bump

[PATCH 1/3] Catch exceptions when running commands for a nicer experience when things go wrong - Top-level exception handling was turned off in earlier versions to make debugging easier [PATCH 2/3] update the readme to make the epel installation step more clear - As requested: http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2014-July/011321.html [PATCH 3/3] bump the version number to 0.1 for the first RPM - Since local builds work, this is probably a good place to build the first RPM

hi, http://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64-20140625/ is now online, livemedia to match this tree is in the isos/ dir at http://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/isos/x86_64/ Cloud images, docker images, coming shortly. Note: this tree now has a centos-release that implements the scope of change we were talking about in the numbering thread. I went through quite a few permutations and what we have here seems like the best middle ground to be on. I am also going to try and circle back to some of the RH folks to make sure they are ok with how we message around where the CentOS Linux release is built from. Local Mockbuilds (and a bugfix) in Centpkg

[PATCH 1/4] If outdir is not checked into git... * When SOURCES/ is not checked into git, centpkg creates that directory to download the sources into [PATCH 2/4] Customize the srpm method * Customized the srpm() method to build from the CentOS SRPMS/ directory [PATCH 3/4] Redefine the "target" used for mock and koji builds. * For now we are using the epel-{6,7} mock configs for local builds. DVD split media

Hi As in CentOS-6, I think we should skip the CD isos; there is little point in that ( but we should do the minimal ISO, lets keep conversation about that on its own thread ). The main distro is just a hint over 6.6GB, that means we cant really put all the stuff into a single DVD[1]; so we need to do the splits. In the past, we've done multiple installs making sure that all the installable components from the installer's groups, in english atleast, are all on DVD#1 and the rest can goto DVD#2. I suspect that strategy will work here as well, and does someone want to give it a shot and come up with a list of rpms that are installable via the installer. If anyone is wondering about the rest: yes, there are rpms included in the distro, hosted in the DVD's that are not installable from the groups available to the user at install time. They can certainly be installed from kickstart, but the general assumption is that people doing those sort of installs are likely not doing them from DVD media. Also, there seems to be interest in jidgo; has anyone worked with that in the past ? and whats to help us get that setup as well ? Regards [1]: maybe we should do a single large 6.6GB ISO as well, and have it available only on torrents, for people who might want or have access to that large format media, or people who just want a copy of the primary repo without using rsync.
