interest in a grsec / hardened kernel

hi Is there any interest ( ie. would people be willing to help ) get a grsec and/or otherwise hardened kernel for CentOS-6/7 ? I dont think its worth putting in the effort into CentOS-5 at this point. Atomic ostree repo mirror

hi, Working on the final bits for getting a CentOS Atomic image done, and a key issue that we need to workout is where the ostree content is going to live. I had considered putting it on cloud.centos.org, but technically there is nothing that indicates Atomic / OSTree are cloud specific. Once we have mainstream traction the best place for hosting this would be on mirror.centos.org, with content in repo moving along with updates, as they are released. But at the moment, I'd say this was a testing release : plus the actual content for the Atomic image is likely to change quite a bit ( we might even end up with multiple Atomic builds for different sorts of roles etc ). With that in mind, should we put the repos on dev.centos.org for now ? is this worth creating an atomic.centos.org ? I'm not a big fan of creating more subdomains though. Centos 7 debuginfo-install

Docker test images for CentOS-5

I've been looking at creating a CentOS-5 docker image, and it's taking shape. Currently my largest concern with the image is that it requires selinux to be disabled on the host, as the image currently lacks a patch similar to what was required for CentOS-6 [1]. If you would like to test this current iteration of this image, you can get it from http://people.centos.org/jperrin/docker/ The kickstart used to create the c5 docker image can be found in the https://github.com/CentOS/sig-cloud-instance-build/ repository. Anjuta On CentOs 7

Hi Guys, In a thread called "Development Tools" i've asked if someone managed to install anjuta on C7. Someone gave me a link of fedora rpm package, but it didn't work for me. I was so close to just drop C7 and install ubuntu for the development. Because who will struggle with the whole dependencies when you can just "apt-get install anjuta" on ubuntu ? But i wanted to challenge myself and install it manually. I did it - i know it's nothing for profis like you. I had to deal with a lot of dependencies. While compiling i figured out that some of gnome projects were broken Oo - i'v fixed the source code and tried again and again till i got Anjuta running on C7. Yaaay. I'll attach some screenshots. The only thing that doesn't work is the glade gui in anjuta. That's because i didn't pay attention to the warning that glade is not installed. but the glade3 is on the repository and you can edit the gui by launching glade3 separately. Do you guys plan to ship anjuta into the repository ? I would like to contribute to CentOS7. Just let me know how can i contribute to C7 and i would love to do that. In other words, i would love to get involve in some projects. P.S. as i am a student at the university i may have time only at weekend. P.S. flexlm management software

Hi all- I deal with flexlm a great deal and want to create better logging software for it that will keep track of what features are used by whom, when, over time periods, etc. The purpose would be to allow admins to track what features are actually being used and which are not. Plan to write it in perl on centos 6. Is this something that would be of use?

Feedback on centos 7 cloud image

Hi, I'm testing centos 7 latest cloud image on an openstack infrastructure, using three networks. I've noticed a couple of things: - cloud init is not setting hostname permanently on the instance. After reboot it is again named "localhost" - the first run of cloud init did not get any ip on eth0 (eth1 and eth2 configured fine). After rebooting eth0 was successfully configured. I suspect that Network Manager is interfering with cloud-init. I don't know if it's a requirement but seems to me that in cloud instances network is anyway configured with other means than Network Manager. Don't know it it's useful to ship it with the cloud image. performing some other tests, hope to get more feedback. thanks Gabriele.

Request to join CentOS Atomic SIG

Hello all, I know I'm a tad late to the game but I'd like to express my intent to join the CentOS Atomic SIG. I don't know the process here but thought I'd throw it out there that I'd like to join. I've been working on a number of packaging things out in the Fedora Atomic space as well as some efforts to package/rebuild for CentOS 7 (using EPEL7 build targets). So far I have contributed to work that's being done in the following locations: Packaging work, spec files, dependency spec files not yet in Fedora/EPEL, etc: https://github.com/projectatomic/kubernetes-package Project Atomic COPR builds for kubernetes and related packages: http://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/walters/atomic-next/ RHEL7/CentOS7 (EPEL7) COPR builds for kubernetes and related packages: http://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/maxamillion/epel7-kubernetes/ NOTE: The EPEL7 build is currently blocked due to an old version of docker in CentOS 7 (inhereted from RHEL) Whatever the next steps are to join please let me know, looking forward to the future of CentOS Atomic!
