SIG AltAarch lorax iso options

So in irc discussions with kbsingh and Evolution, I have pieced this lorax invocation together for powerpc isos lorax '--product=CentOS AltArch' --version=7 --release=`date +%y%m%d` --source=file:///repo/7.2.1511/os/ppc64le --isfinal --nomacboot --noupgrade --buildarch=ppc64le '--volid=CentOS 7 ppc64le' /root/lorax/netinstall I’m hoping we can arrive at some consensus for product, release, and volid fields for all SIG AltArch flavors. [Atomic SIG] ADB 1.5.0 released

Hi All, We have released Atomic Developer Bundle version 1.5.0. This is released as part of CentOS Atomic SIG. CentOS for Oracle Cloud Marketplace

We did a test with CentOS 15.03 RAW image (http://cloud.centos.org/centos/7/images/CentOS-7-x86_64-GenericCloud-1503.r…) and it boots up with no changes in Oracle Compute Cloud Service. Oracle Compute supports the same Amazon data source and cloud-init metadata for ssh keys - so it inserted the ssh keys just fine into the CentOS instance. (The Oracle Compute Cloud Service requires image files in RAW .tar.gz format - so we had to do one small extra step of compressing. Longer term we can see if the builds can automatically include a .tar.gz format for raw images) We will do a quick test with CentOS 15.10 latest version posted at http://cloud.centos.org/centos/7/images Assuming it works ok as well, please let us know if we can take it, .tar.gz it, and publish the image on Oracle Cloud Marketplace with the publisher listed as centos.org. SIGs sign push is suspended

hi. Since were seeding the mirrors upto the 7 release, it creates a lot of flux for about 24 - 36 hrs in the mirror network. In order to keep content going to the right place, I've suspended the sign, push for SIG content ( it was cleared yesterday, with nothing pending in the queue ). We should be able to resume the run on Monday. Hi everybody I don't find anything in updated or cr-repo for i686 arch. It seems that most of these packages are already available in the x86_64 . So what's up ? thanks

CentOS 7.2 issues

Hi list, I'm currently looking at the sources for CentOS 7.2 (at the vault), because I want to rebuild them for armv5 (redsleeve). I think that I saw some irregularities, which I wanted to share with you. First, there is no repodata for the os section of 7.2 (http://vault.centos.org/7.2.1511/os/Source/) I think that all other directories do have that. (this is something I often use, in combination with repodiff to get a list of srpms to download) To work around this I downloaded all and created my own repo for the scripts to work on. Second, there are a couple of srpms that are older than those present in 7.1 (with updates). Here is the relevant part of a repodiff between 7.1 (+ updates) and 7.2 (+ updates): Downgraded Packages: firefox: firefox-38.4.0-1.el7.centos -> firefox-38.3.0-2.el7.centos gmp: gmp-6.0.0-12.el7_1 -> gmp-6.0.0-11.el7 java-1.6.0-openjdk: java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.37-1.13.9.4.el7_1 -> java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.36-1.13.8.1.el7_1 ksh: ksh-20120801-22.el7_1.3 -> ksh-20120801-22.el7_1.2 libreswan: libreswan-3.15-5.el7_1 -> libreswan-3.12-10.1.el7_1 postgresql: postgresql-9.2.14-1.el7_1 -> postgresql-9.2.13-1.el7_1 Third, I found a couple of srpms with a time stamp before 2015-11-19 (GA date of RHEL 7.2) which are not in 7.1. I get the impression that they should have been updates to 7.1, but somehow never made it. When I sampled a couple, I also could not find an advisory for them on rhn. I have the impression that the extras from 7.1 and 7.0 should also have been here (or maybe just a few of them) At the very least mock/pigz should be here, but also some of the python packages that are needed to build the 7.0 srpms should still be here I think. Fifth, I miss some packages in extras. python-cryptography won't build because it needs some dependencies. Apparently the deps are not shipped by RH, so they should have been in extras. The missing deps are: python-cryptography-vectors = 0.8.2 python-iso8601 python-pretend (and maybe stuff that's needed to build those) These items are all things that I can work around, but I just wanted to share my findings. What base OS should I run koji on?

I'm afraid thus is the third time I've tried to get koji working to submit packages for EPEL and Fedora, and once again I'm stuck. I've activated a fresh Fedora 23 build, gotten my bugzillas and credentials working, but cannot make even a scratch rebuild if an existing Fedora SRPM for proof of concept test. What base OS are people using for Koji packaging? I've built up roughly 200 SRPM kits that I publish at github.com, and I'd really like to be able to publish some of my old favorites to EPEL and Fedora. NGINX cannot be installed. Possible to include libunwind in CentOS-Base?

Hi, I'm the maintainer of NGINX package for Fedora/EPEL 7. The most commonly recommended way to install NGINX on CentOS 7 is via the EPEL 7 repository. However, for the last few days this has not been possible. libunwind is now included in RHEL 7.2 (having previously been only in EPEL 7 repo). Unfortunately, the maintainer for the RHEL libunwind broke the upgrade path by using a Release (1.1-5) lower than the EPEL libunwind (1.1-10). To fix this, libunwind got immediately retired from EPEL 7: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1288313 Unfortunately, that means libunwind cannot be installed at all on CentOS 7 unless you enable CR repository. NGINX depends on gperftools which depends on libunwind, so users cannot install NGINX: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1289073 My plan was to *unretire* libunwind from EPEL, but to avoid breaking RHEL I had to wait for the RHEL maintainer to bump the Release of libunwind on RHEL. Sadly, maintainer said this won't happen until the next batch update on January 19th. Another possibility is to remove gperftools support from NGINX, which would make NGINX installable again while waiting for the release of CentOS 7.2. However, I definitely can't take this approach as it would break NGINX for existing users who need the gperftools module and that would be even worse. So, would it be possible to include the libunwind-1.1-5 package (from CentOS-CR) in CentOS-base before CentOS 7.2 is actually released? I'm very open to hear any other suggestions of how I might fix this, but I seem to be running out of options. Kind regards, Jamie
