Cloud SIG: lessons learn in transition to 7.3

Hi, During the transition to CentOS 7.3, we have been hitting some issues in Cloud SIG and have collected them in https://review.rdoproject.org/etherpad/p/release-centos-7.3 so that we can learn for next releases. keeping Extras in sync with Core

So right now following the instructions on: https://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/Docker results in a non-working Docker because the version in Extras hasn't been rebuilt yet, and there's a strong dependency on selinux policy. I'm still trying to wade through the pile of virt7* repos to find something working, right now hitting a requirement on `skopeo-containers`. In the future, can we ensure that there's a "CR" version of Extras[1] that is built at the same time, and they're all released at once? We also need to figure out how CR interacts with the CBS content better. [1] And ideally other things like the atomic host content, but let's start with Extras

Atomic SIG: discussion about kubernetes-node in downstream image

With the goal of slimming down the size of our atomic host image and of allowing users the flexibility to choose different component versions, we removed kubernetes and few other packages from the continuous/alpha version of centos atomic host back in august[1]. [1] https://github.com/CentOS/sig-atomic-buildscripts/commit/3ce19d58a5f1d9b5d5… Fedora made a similar change[2] in Fedora Atomic 25. [2] https://pagure.io/fedora-atomic/c/219c9bb26426811a5f32188c59682ad70c3283e5 RHEL Atomic host, in the 7.3 version, went halfway and removed the master half of kubernetes, but left the node half of the package in place. When we update the downstream version of CentOS Atomic Host, if we follow the lead of RHEL AH, we'll be pinned to kubernetes 1.3 for the kubelet and kube-proxy, and we'll have to run the master components in containers. I want to discuss diverging from RHEL AH by not including the kubernetes-node pkg in our downstream image. This would allow users to install a newer version of the kubernetes-node, such as this 1.4.5 version from my copr[3] that I hope to see move into the virt-sig soon. centos-logos legal problem

Hello. centos-logos (included CentOS version 7) license tag is "All rights reserved". I see COPYING, This license is not permitted copy and redistribute except copyright/trademark written permission. because "permit copy and redistribute" statement is not find. but this license permit specific usage. I report bug report. https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=12269 Is this is legal problem ? I think that this license is not allow copy, redistribute and mirror, It is legal problem. Thank you. [OpsTools] rubygem-fluent-plugin-rewrite-tag-filter

Hi all, I'd like to have rubygem-fluent-plugin-rewrite-tag-filter in the opstools sig repos. Not sure what exactly should be done for this. There are two github organizations, [1] and [2], and some packages forked between them. Seems like we have a repo per project. So we need a new project, right? In which organization? Who can/should handle this? I currently try to use a build I found in copr [3], and it seems to work. I checked the git repo [4] it was built from, and the spec file there is an unchanged output of gem2rpm. We can start with this, I didn't review it yet myself (and have zero experience with packaging ruby gems). Productivity Tooling SIG creation request

Hello, Following a discussion during the last CentOS interlock in Paris, we want to propose the creation of a new SIG that will try to package and deliver applications (and related libraries) that can be called productivity applications such as: * Issues trackers * Source code management tools * Job orchestrators In the beginning we want to focus on packaging applications we currently ship inside an Open source CI/CD platform called Software Factory [1] and make them available for every CentOS user. Once packaged, we will use them directly to build the Software Factory image. These applications are (among others): * Storyboard [2] * Gerrit [3] * Zuul [4] * Redmine [5] Software Factory is a software development platform geared towards CI and CD that we've been developing since January 2014. Software Factory pre-configures and runs Gerrit, Jenkins, Nodepool, Zuul (and other optional services) over CentOS. We are going to package these services to ease the Software Factory image creation but we think this effort of packaging and the resulting artifacts make sense under a SIG thus this Productivity Tooling SIG creation request. We intend to provide & maintain an instance of Software Factory that will host the related distgit repositories and automate the CI jobs interacting with CBS. We are looking forward to your comments and we hope this new SIG request make sense.
