Origin 1.3 is in testing

Hello, OpenShift Origin 1.3 has been released upstream. We have the corresponding origin 1.3 and openshift-ansible rpms in our PAAS openshift origin testing repo. Please test before our Paas SIG meeting on Wedensday, Sept 21. If there are no blockers at the meeting, we will release it. - yum install centos-release-openshift-origin (If you haven't done this already) - yum --enablerepo=centos-openshift-origin-testing clean all - yum --enablerepo=centos-openshift-origin-testing list origin\* openshift\* - yum --enablerepo=centos-openshift-origin-testing install origin origin-clients (or whatever you need to install for testing) Happy Testing Troy

Format for the CentOS (openshift) origin rpm

Hi, I've been debating this all week and decided it's probably better as a community decision than just my own. Problem: The current source rpm for origin is generated using tito on the origin git repo. The biggest problem with this is the tarball is generated on the fly and sortof encorporated into the spec file. That makes it hard for others to duplicate the src.rpm and/or make patches for it. If I were an outsider (not on the openshift team) and making an rpm for Fedora/EPEL, I wouldn't do this. I would grab the released tarball from Github and build my spec file around that. Solution 1: Keep things the same. Do others really care that they can't duplicate the src.rpm without tito, as long as they can recompile it? Solution 2: Create a origin spec file that uses the tarball from Github. I've already done this. It works quite well. But it does involve some manual spec file editing. Troy p.s. I am totally fine either way. The only reason I've been debating this is because I keep having issues with tito making the whole src.rpm.

rkt rpm status on Virt SIG

rkt WIP rpm for CentOS 7 available for people brave enough to test. Throwaway envs preferred. - IMPORTANT: systemd 222 working on CentOS 7 but it can *ONLY* start filesystems under /, so it goes into recovery mode when /home is a separate partition. [Infra] - Major outage for several services (please read)

As pre-announced earlier this year (https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2016-May/014792.html) we'll have to move a part of our existing hardware to a new DC. That means that the following public services will be powered off and unreachable : - https://cbs.centos.org (Koji build farm front end and also builders/storage nodes behind) - https://accounts.centos.org (auth backend) - https://ci.centos.org (jenkins-driven CI environment and all nodes in that dedicated/isolated environment) What does that mean ? - Nobody from the SIGs (https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup) will be able to submit build jobs/tasks (so no update at all during that migration) - No CI job will be able to track CBS nor external repositories (and so that means also that http://artifacts.ci.centos.org will be unreachable) - Not possible for existing users to update their details on accounts.centos.org, and not possible to create new accounts either We're working on a plan to minimize the downtime/reconfiguration part, but at first sight, due to the hardware move of the racks/cabling parts/etc, the announced downtime will be probably ~48h. Migration is scheduled for """"Monday October 10th, 1:00 pm UTC time"""".
